I made a very basic night time TE - like a pre school ‘take off from this base’ ,follow 5 STRPTs, and ‘land at this base’ …worked perfect get to STRPT 5 within 30nm change my UHF freq for landing TWR , request approach they light it up like christmas and I land…

SO for fun and training purposes I wrote out a list of TWR freq,longitude/latitudes, type them into the DED to go off the planned course and hop bases and every last one “you are not in my airspace fly within 30 nm before request” I was within the 30 miles. …better yet I decide to turn around and go the planned course get back to the original planned landing TWR and they refuse me as well.

By the way Is there a BMS Manual for TE builder ?

P.S. I’m new to this sim and love it. Losing sleep, can’t wait to learn something new every day ADDICTED. This forum ,the DEVS with spectacular in depth manuals, Krause and his YouTube channel have made it even better. Thanks to every one.

you probably are not using the correct frequency for the airbase you’re landing at, you’re probably on a preset (15) of another airbase
check interactive map for airbase frequency: http://www.ravico.com/ST/BMS_KOREA_interactive/index.html
check bms manual (your doc folder) for a chapter about TE

        welcome to bms

So in other words the large numbers on the map you posted are the channels for that area ?.

Example: Chongju arprt is UHF 250.2
I find its location on the map you provided to find the channel ? (The large navy colored #)

          Thank you for the help.

Do not talk about “channel” this is irrelevent. Talk about “frequency” because on a given channel, anybody can set the frequency he wants (Just like on your TV or you car radio).

If I’m understanding correctly, no. The large blue colored numbers are the maximum obstacle altitude in that particular block. In other words, if you fly higher than that number, you won’t hit a hill or ridge in that block.

For what you want, find the airbase, click on it …. get airbase info.

I’ve clicked everything (on the map) for airbase info the only way I get tower frequencues is by loading the take off tower (STRPT 1) into my data cartridge then it will tell me…I’ve recon bases I’ve right clicked left clicked. The only way I’ve found base info is through DOCS. I have had no trouble communicating towers until I wanted to land at a random. Suddenly I’m no longer within air space. I have the frequencies (I’ve wrote them all down) doesn’t matter they all tell me I’m not within airspace unless I had it set to land there through a STRPT,though I’m starting to question if that even works cause as of now they all tell me I’m not even if I’m starting take off from their base ?. I am as of now not within airspace. My channel is always in #6 (but that doesn’t apply ?)

Agave Blue is talking about Red Dogs interactive Korea map, which is a web page. You are talking about the in game 2D UI, which is a flat map.

On the interactive map, clicking an airbase will display a small window with pertinent details, including frequency.

Channel is irrelevant, you can change that as you like. Set the frequency directly on the ICP for now.

STPTs are irrelevant in terms of getting the airbase to talk to you, too. If you get outside my airspace calls while over the runway, you are not on the right frequency.

So I figured out my problem. Since I started playing I always ramps start and by my own default I always set and kept my UHF in Backup and dialed in towers using the knobs on the left console. When I first ran I to this problem on and off it was those few instances where I would start enroute or runway the game by default loaded me into UFC. That got me to the right page in the manuals…now I understand the presets and the com 1-2 of the ICP. It just tripped me out seeing the UHF on and on the channel Ito went over my head with the ICP

Thanks to all for the help. I know I drop some hardcore newb questions ,but not until I run into a situation where I’m stuck and after searching theards manuals, and YouTube.

don’t worry about it babe, to some degree that is what the forums are for.

you know the manual exists, so you’re already ahead of the curve. happy flying.
