Monster Terrain tool

Hello guys. After some time I am back on creating airbase models. But it seems TE v3.7.0 has some problems. I cannot used Objective Lab tab. When I open the te_new it gives the error" subscript out of range" and “cannot open HDR file”. Do you guys have any idea about this problem?

I dont know which theater you tried, but I belive your koreaobj.hdr is not ok…Try to open stock korea.

I tried to open stock theatre KTO. I dont have any problem Falcon. Somehow I damaged the hdr file probably. Do you know any way to fix that?

Is there someone else who had similar problem? Also, uninstalling and reinstalling did not solve my problem. I also had " L2 not found" problem but relaunch of the TE fixed this problem.

Hi Monster, i want to ask one thing. When i open the map in Sakis Gkiokas terrain editor (3.7.0)
-> open 3d terrain
-> then make some elevation changes
-> commit by alt+s
-> save L2 file
-> exit terrain editorAfter save i can’t see any changes in Falcon BMS game but when i open terrain editor again the changes are there….
Pls what i’m doing wrong or what i missed? Thx for answer. -
Open Terrain Editor Again! On the right side where you see the SAVE L2 box, underneath it there is a check box for deleting Temp files, check that box and then Save L2.

i’m sorry but i did that but still the same … ? any ideas?

In your …/data/Terrdata/Korea/Terrain directory confirm that the file THEATER_POLAK.L2 carries a Date Modified datestamp which matches your edit date/time. Next, assuming this is good, there are 5 files ending .BIL .HDR .NRM .SBI .TID - manually delete them (this manually completes the action described by C9 above) then restart Falcon BMS to allow them to be rebuilt.
If your datestamp doesn’t look “correct” then you need to confirm your edited *.L2 is actually in the current working theater directory.

oh ye… deleting and rebuilding these files did that trick. Many thanks Malc and C9 !!!

Not sure you can do that with this tool. CATE let you do it, but that’s no help.

Manually it can be done with elevation tool by dragging a square in the tiles u want then setting the elevation. If it is specific tilenumber you wanna change then u can use the search tool by inserting the tile number then on elevation set the elevation

I wonder if its gonna be a new version for 4.35….

Does this tool work for anyone in 4.35 ?
It still work for 4.34 … and difference is not that much, terrain wise, but when trying to load objectives I get strange errors: ct error , out of memory , error 7 & 9
I haven’t try too much (yet) , did anyone had any success ??
Thanks

As it still reads the save 100 version maybe save as version 100? Its a PITA cause you will have to have an empty 103 version and import everything after but it might just work. I use the currend MC (of course i started from scratch the objectives for Georgia) and already saved at 100 version and TE reads it. I had an issue with “overflow” (subscript 9) cause a city was at X1024 Y3 and ofc ourse it supposed to be at X1023 when i fixed that everything was fine!
-
Nope. Not supported for load objectives.
Hope Monster will find time to make update!! -
could we use it with 4.34 and still have accurate results for 4.35 or there have been changes/additions on objectives and tiles??
-
You can use it for 4.34 completely … and load objectives … but for 4.35 you need campaign files v100 as @Manos says , … but that is grrr … PPPPIIIITTTTAA :mrgreen:
Yah, hope Monster will help.
Thanks

Life’s got a bit easier now. Falcas saved us - Now you can “save as” v100 directly from “MC” , little checkbox in up-right corner. ,… and use your way to hack into 4.35 install/database/ with TerEd
… since , sniff , no support for v103 in "TerEd"yet. … but … still hoping.
I still need to fix DB discrepancies from 4.34 to 4.35 for my custom theater db … and even don’t know where to begin… crap, …whole world of objectives was “filtered” and renamed / changed … I could spend whole f3cking day just comparing the changes) - and there’s noway for automating the tasks …
If I was smarter , I’ve could just externalize my changes into separate xml’s then save them for later importing as seems fit … addon/replacement … now I have to do it all again…
