Help finding old videos
-
Years ago (like 10 probably) I created some videos. I can’t find them on my PC aside for a very low res copy of one of them. I was under the name of AMRAAM in the days of Frugals world. Does anyone have them saved on a very remote chance?

A very good thread idea, thanks!
Sorry I can’t help you planehazza, but I hope to find another video:
The original of this one - with original soundtrack!
cheers,

Nevermind - did a search for the squad patch ‘85 tes’ on utube and got it finally ….
Thanks anyhow.

Wow I forgot about that. I think I might actually have that saved somewhere…
Nope
I’ve found another of my movies, but again it’s very low res :(. I can’t find my first that was titled “another day in the office” though. It was rubbish, but it was the first one I ever made!

Hi Amraam, I remember you from frug’s (are Sunderland shite?:)) and I can remember one of your videos Desert Rose? I think, I’m sure you tried but there is a chance someone might have stuck it on youtube however looking for old F4 stuff by putting in the actual title doesn’t help much depends on what the uploader put in the tags, I recently found a couple of classic oldies by searching under “open falcon”
aka Fight club
Beachav8r’s PMC theatre compilation (sadly no audio)

Hi Slains,
Thanks, Desert Rose is the one I managed to find last night. It’s awfully low res and in a box window but at least I can view it for nostalgia! It’s crazy to see how F4 has changed. I still remember when SP4 came out and I tried that after only experienced vanilla F4!
Yup, Sunderland are crap, but I’m probably the only male geordie to dislike football!

Wow, I remember you sir from Frug’s. I was mainly just lurking there and not that much about writing and posting. Many familiar names have appeared here; I remember some low-end 'puter users very well such as TommyGun and Quasi_Stellar, who both are active here, since I had a very poor PC at that time aswell. It was barely able to run the good old SuperPak 4.2 with reduced graphic settings. Not so surprisingly, it couldn’t run the early versions of BMS (versions 2.0 and below), which was one of the most advanced versions of Falcon 4 of the time.
Thanks for giving the name of the lost video! I found it from my CD collection after getting the name of the video. Here’s the hires version of the movie as downloaded in March 2005:

WOW. Thank you so much!! Thought I’d lost it forever. The video I made is rubbish, but I had so much fun making it and remember being so chuffed I’d actually done. I remember being so proud I’d exported all the comms files and used them manully in the video
I remember you too mate. So many good times at Frugals; I was so gutted when it closed. It’s a testimony to the falcon community. We will not disappear forever!

Well, everybody needs to start from a point. I haven’t made any videos, so I can’t do anything but to just share the ones I have gathered during the “ancient” times. Speaking of which, if I may, I’ll share a couple more videos here that I found on the same go. As said, I haven’t made them but just sharing them. If the authors of the videos recognize their videos here and do not like the clips to be shared, please inform me and I’ll remove them.

Blimey, proper nostalgia, I remember Hammers of Crom!, johku you don’t happen to have one called “Silver angels OCA strike” in your collection? it was one of the best open falcon videos ever made, the guy used loads of after effects like birds flying over the base in the intro, I had it up until about 3 years ago but never rescued it from my old PC, and it’s never been on youtube to my knowledge.

Yes I do sir. Here you go:

In my opinion these old-time classics should be uploaded to Youtube for instance. I don’t know though if the original authors would allow us to do that.

Thanks johku, that’s awesome, that video was so far ahead of it’s time in terms of the post processing effects etc he put into it plus an amazing soundtrack and when you consider how OF actually looked back then. I’m sure it would be OK to put this stuff on youtube now after such a long passage of time and the now outdated Falcon versions involved, although I remember the authors at the time were all very picky and hated youtube but that’s’ only because 10 years ago the youtube player was the size of a postage stamp, the quality was awful and there was no HD, be a shame to lose these oldies.

Where did you find the Desert Rose video? It seemed it should be at http://www.tmet15.co.uk/DesertRose.zip, but the site is no longer up. Help!
