4.33.2 with decreased FPS in cockpit
-
First, thank you BMS team for the update
And to my little problem: In the version 4.33.2, i have decreased FPS in cockpit view only, now like 30 or so instead of 60 locked by VSync.
All my Graphical settings were the same as in 4.33.1, and i also reduced PS in the configurator, but it didn’t helped
I tried that out in Furball, only my plane, no other planes/units in there, tested with the Hornet, Block 40 and Block 52…
MFD’s were on standard pages, not TGP and FCR, and even with those two pages up, i had no decrease in FPS in 4.33.1
And the “weird” thing is, that i have normal 60 FPS with VSync in the external view…
Is there something i can do on my side or does that have something to do with the software, the only programm i was running was the TrackIR software…
Thanks in advance and regards

So i just installed the newest NVidia driver but no difference, and also, BMS shows me that i have 50+ FPS but it just feels so choppy, like always stuttering, it’s not like real 50 FPS

Vsync can mess with fps measurements… turn it off and re-run your tests.
if your fps dips too low Vsync can decide to lock your fps to 30.
i ran into a similar issue (same symptoms) when i tried streaming bms. i tried streaming at 1080p 30fps. this made my trackir really choppy, but when i bumped the fps in the streaming settings up to above 40 it went smooth again.
edit: just finished my update to u2, and i’ve ran before and after tests in dogfight furball and campaign above the flot. i have no difference in fps between versions.
i am however running an ATI card (msi 7850 twin frozr 4 OC) instead of a 980TI. otherwise our systems are similar (same cpu only mine is at 4.6ghz) so either it’s an nvidia thing or something in the background or vsync as i suspect it is. hope this helped you narrow it down some.edit2. owyea as far as cranking the graphics… everything is on except motion blur (i hate that)

Well that was interesting, thank you, turning off VSync did it for me…
