On which depends landing runway runway from tower?
e.g. you have a two runways air base (like Chongju air base), tower calls “Runway is xxx R/L”. Important here is R or L.
m asking because Chongju air base is also an international airport and IMO they have one runway for civilian a/cs and the other for military…
Regards and TIA
Well, am not sure and also would like to know what the code has as conditions, but…
Logic sais to me; it would depend on what turn you’d make after takeoff (RWY L if a left turn after T/O and so on…).
Maybe there’s a RWY dedicated to civilian trafic, also…?
My logic is different :
one for landing, one for take off
but logic and code are two different things
In BMS, i recall it’s working like that for parallel runways
1. runway depends on winds
2. take off and landing runway will be different for most of the time (so indeed the code will assign one departing and one landing runway)
3. if there’s an ILS on one of the two runway, that one will be assigned for landing.
4. if both runways have ILS, i think that the assigned landing one will depend on wind orientation (but i actually never really checked this one - so take this last point with a grain of salt)
