Is there a way to tweak the time it takes for the FLIR and TGP to time-out? I’m ising the FLIR image as the TV image on the backseat HUD reapeater which is available as soon as the HUD is available……hence the question…;)

      Thanks, Chris.

Im going to be that unhelpful guy: Im sure you can, but I cant recall where. Somewhere in BMS config perhaps?

I would like to see a working ASHM for cockpit display extraction.

It is hardcoded, so no. FLIR time-in is wrong currently anyway, maybe it will be updated in the future.

How long does it take at the moment?? Maybe I can extend the cockpit preparation time, so the FLIR is ready at taxi-out?

FLIR warmup time varies with the outside temperature.
For now, its random.I don’t think setting a config option for it is the right way. Best thing would be some atmospheric temperature coding.

Current time set in bms is the max time stated in the official rl documents, but my rl vids from various weather conditions is 5~6 minutes. Practically currently in bms is not possible to align the FLIR on ground as in sop’s, an action that takes place on the hold/leak area just before TO. So the FLIR wakes a couple minutes after rotation currently, thus a in-flight FLIR alignment should be performed which is extremely difficult to successfully perform.

I would love to see in the future these time-in times to be tight in weather and external temperature by code. But devs should consider that even then the system manufacturer states in documents the maximum times ever recorded, just to be safe and covered to customer, meaning that you can have low-to-average times even in extreme conditions. As an example, the DB-110 pod is stated to require up to 120 minutes (yes 2 hours) for time-in, think this is practical in rl world to reflect such values in a computer simulator?

The max warmup value is not used as a standard.
The warmup time is generated randomly from 7 to 15 minutes.

That’s not what we see. 7-15 minutes cannot be the maximum times ever recorded. Its either 7 or 15. Agree ?

Leech, concur. I’ve modified my TO checklist so that TGP warm up is done first thing as soon as jet is on main power.I can fairly safely say I’ve given it 19 minutes. The best result I’ve ever had is it “waking up” on the taxiway.
