I’m glad I could help. Jan described the process in his instructions, but let me expand on it for anyone that doesn’t quite understand how those files work.

The folder called “KoreaObj_HighRes” contains some texture files that are only loaded if you have “High Resolution Textures” enabled in the config. If you don’t have that option checked, then the textures from KoreaObj are used instead. If you have High Resolution Textures enabled but the sim doesn’t find that particular texture in KoreaObj_HighRes, it falls back to looking in KoreaObj.

So how is that relevant to the JanHas models? Say you pasted the JanHas textures files to KoreaObj but you have High Resolution Textures enabled…this will result in the texture files from KoreaObj_HighRes loading instead of the ones you pasted in KoreaObj, resulting in very strange, ugly results as many of you may have already seen. On the other side of that same coin, say you pasted the textures in KoreaObj_HighRes but then you don’t have High Resolution Textures enabled…you’ll get the same ugly result.

That’s why you always need to ensure you put textures in their correct location according to your settings. Unless you’re running on absolutely ancient hardware, the high resolution textures will have a negligible effect on performance. This is why Jan recommends in his document that you simply cut the contents from KoreaObj_HighRes and paste them in KoreaObj as it will drastically simplify the model installation process by only having to deal with files in a single folder.

or told in short, “Better safe than sorry”, I guess.

Thanks a lot, Rybo, it’s crystal clear once again now for this marblehead too.

              With best regards.

                Outstanding work again Jan :woohoo:

One Question: Is there a keystroke to deploy the Towed Decoys ?

                EDIT: Found it 🙂

                  @JanHas:

This will remove the info bar as well. If you do not want to use the NVG’s at all it’s better to change the “IsVtol 1” to “IsVtol 0” in the f16bk50.dat file.

                  .

                  Hi Jan
if i do so i have some Trouble. When i put a Block50 into a Mission all WP are red and locked with a Speed of 999 kts. As well Falcon Crashes at the 2nd Loading screen.
After overwrinting the .dat für with the Original from yor Package all will be fine . Strange

Might be the dat file. What I do is open the day file in notepad++ and save it in there. If you open it in notepad for windows, it (for some reason or another) might corrupt the file. I would grab the original .dat file and put it back in your sim folder then check to make sure it works in game. If it does, open it with Notepad+ and edit it in there.

Rybo, that makes alot of sense. I guess what really confused me was items #1 and #2 of the instructions. Why would dds be placed in Objects, and not KoreaObj or KoreaObj_HighRes?

I think that this might be an error in the instructions.

Wangler, you’re right! I didn’t even notice that error, I just knew where to put them. In any case, I’m glad I could help and I’m glad JanHas makes such fantastic models for us to use! 😄

The CM-42 is also ready! I had to add a couple of new squadron skins to the package (now 7 sets total). The 152nd (AZ), 311th & 314th (HO) have been added. The blue skin of the 112th/125th are now also standard besides the two Have Glass 5 skins that were part of the LV3 model.

Next up is the RoKAF KF-16C-52 model.

Yes, and it’s not specifically the attachment that is the issue, but more like a ‘permission’ as it were. Said attachments seem to show for some and not others.
