Recommended program?

I’ve not been “on the scene” for a little over a year now, so I’m here asking for recommendations for a good voice control program. For ages and ages, I used VAC as it was easy to use and I just copied off of someone’s profile. Before I left, I was also using Voice Attack particularly for Elite Dangerous as I was able to script more complex commands in that program. Livrot also just released his LMC program but response from him was slow so I wasn’t able to dive in very much with his program.
I really liked the simplicity of VAC, as I could just say “Tanker, request refuel” and be done with it. The complexity of Voice Attack was good for Elite (I coded it so that it would track which page I was on with the side monitors), and I could control shield/engine/weapon pip allocations and request for docking and such. However, I’d like to be able to do more realistic comms this time around, which was what I was hoping to do with LMC… realistic comms being “Camel 1, Viper flight of two F-16s joining you from the south, requesting fuel.” or something to that effect.
Suggestions?

I suggest you go with LMC
Like you I recently decided to implement realistic comms and LMC does just that. With the placeholder, the synonyms and the wildcards, you can do whatever you want. Besides, voice recognition is really good. The software itself is very complete, with numerous (too many?) options and configuration possibilities. Just check www.livrot.com, you’ll be amazed.Judy

I’m hoping some more work has been done with LMC? Last time I played with it, the placeholders and other “amazing stuff” didn’t work. I could say all the terms or callsigns I wanted and the voice command would work….

Just that I used LMC with placeholders yesterday and it worked as planned

Voice Attack is good and there is- if you want it - a full 4.33 voice command profile - you can of course add other commands one of mine is “Tracker” to centre your track IR (F12) and you might have to change some so that they are more easily recognised e.g. “Request QNH” to “Request Pressure” but leaving the key commands the same obviously.
Another one is “Hot pit refuel” to “hey Joe just kick the tyres I am out of here” or may be not ;0)

The idea was that if I was Cobra flight and when using comms, identified myself as Viper, the voice command should not work…. but it did. Or if I was talking to Kunsan tower but said Kimp, it should NOT work… but it did.

Voice Attack. Lack of 2 separate joystick button assignments for uhf/vhf not the issue I expected it to be.

How would the voice software know that? Unless you edit the profile before each flight, or does it some have access to the mission files?

You set the placeholders before flight. Tell it “For this flight, I’m Cobra flight, tanker is Texaco, airbase is Kunsan”

Just set the Voice Attack to “active window” and you don’t need to press any comms buttons to make it work.

Not sure we are talking about same thing. I refer to using Hotas radio keys (uhf/vhf) to open mic to VA while broadcasting the command on selected radio channel. In practice ive found it adequate only broadcasting on one or the other. My preference is vhf.

I recommend Keyspeech. It works with DX buttons so you can have UHF or VHF activate with Keyspeech with one key press.

All I can say is, it is worth the effort to check the latest version of LMC. Many bugs have been removed and the user interface has become much friendlier.´
When you speak into the enabled microphone the speech recognition tries to find a match. What do you expect?
I would like to hear what advantage any other speech recognition has over LMC for usage in falcon.

True, I’ve not used LMC in what appears to be a year now. I do hope the documentation is better and that you’re more active either on your support forum or here, Torvil. The less hair-pulling required, the better!

I second that. But LMC evolves - and how! And also an input tool with such flexibility always has much more feedback than an egg-clock app for a smartphone.
You missed two major releases by the way. You license key file should still work, though.
