Question regarding Backup UHF use. I noticed when flying the F-16CM block 42 when I try to select the first digit in the BUP panel it only shows “2” or “A”. Not really sure what this means. I flew the block 52 and was able to tune “3” and “2” for the first digit. Could not find a specific mention about this in the manual. What exactly does the “A” mean?

It’s anti-jam. The “A” channels aren’t like normal frequencies in MHz but are programmed “nets” relating to the Have Quick II frequency-hopping system. You should be able to set 2XX or 3XX MHz in all of the UHF radios in BMS F-16s. Some cockpit art has “dark” first digit and I’ve accidentally started entering e.g. 29.23 MHz instead of 292.3 MHz.

EDIT: I see what you mean by the cockpit art. It’s only showing A and 2 despite responding to the callbacks SimBupUhfFreq1_2 and SimBupUhfFreq1_3. Until it’s fixed presume that “2” means “2” and “A” means “3.”

IRL when you turn the knob to A position you are entering anti jam mode (FH). In this mode rest of the knobs instead of controlling frequency controls a thing called net number.
To be able to use FH you need WOD (Word Of Day) to be input and you also need TOD (Time Of Day) signal to be received by the radio or in some airplanes you can use TOD provided by GPS (EGI) and that what EGI HQ TOD switch in A-10C is for.

          Look at this:

          And one more:

The “A” is currently a graphic glitch. A simply means 3.
AJ is not implemented at the moment.

Yep. Looks like we have to wait 3-4 weeks over and over and maybe someone will implement it 😉
