What has influence on a campaign career?
-
Hello,
exists there a document or anything else that explains, what has influence on a
campaign career? I think there are several points.- success of a mission
- number of destroyed targets, aircrafts
- tos time of a mission
- friendly fire
- win of a campaign : how fast?!
- lost of wingmen?
- KIA, MIA, …
But what else? Its is important to fly a mission from ramp (cold and dark) to engine shut down or it is enough to enter in flight, kill some targets and some exist the mission?
What are the imporant facts which has influence on medals, ranking, … ?Some years ago (> 5 years) exists a program, that could say, how much mission do you have to fly, to get next ranking level like major, captain,… . I think, today doesnt exists anymore such a tool?
Best regards,

No, you do not have to ramp. Starting from taxi or runway is fine.

BMS Manual section 10.7 has most of the answers you seek. ===> X/Falcon BMS 4.33U1/Docs/Falcon BMS Manuals/BMS-Manual

Hello,
thanks for the answers.
Within a campaign, you can find …/Intel/Sierra Hotel
the several pilots from one airbase.
In which windows file exists this ranking? At this moment i use several falcon instances and want to take the relevant files on my journeys.
Its not the callsign.lbk neither nor the the campaign safe file like campaign1.cam, campaign1.twx, campaign1.ini, campaign1.frc, campaign1.his
What other files do I need for my journeys, if i want to take a campaign with me?
Regards,

Anyone know if Maj/Generals exist? I’ve been sitting at the rank of General now for the last two years. And I was surprised when I got that rank considering I don’t recall the original manual indicating ranks above Col.

I have never made General; probably a good idea frankly. The longevity medal is cool but don’t think it has anything to do with promotions.

MarvelHi Marvel,
I have used a version of this program since 2002 to keep up with my .lbkhttp://www.185th.co.uk/links.htm
Look to the bottom right. This is the original version. The one I have used over the past 14 years is v1.1. I have searched the bottom floors of the internet searching for it to no avail. With BMS, I have to trick the log reader into thinking I’m flying the original F4. Just copy your …BMS\User\config\superpilot.lbk from BMS into the Microprose\Falcon4\config folder. Then run the log reader from the desktop. There you will find the goodies you’re after. Version 1.1 creates a .csv which stores the stats in a spreadsheet called superpilot_CAM.csv. This is what I have running from June of 2002.
Good Luck,
Quasi
…and thanks to the 185th for still having this hosted !!! -

I don’t remember when nor how.
Deejay,
Yeah that’s General… I’ve had that rank for two years now. IIRC I got that at 6200 points. I’m wondering if we will see a two star general? (MajGen). I’m guessing double the last score? I’m only at about 8000 pts right now. I guess I have a while.

I would like to see the Longevity criteria changed though… 100 missions without getting shot down. Ok, that’s easy to do if you fly very reserved like I had to do. But I hated the fact that if you lost a wingman or a jet from within the package your score would reset. Man I do remember it taking me a couple years to get that medal.
Shouldn’t the Longevity be specific to the player only?
