@Ahmed
The new fog altitude feature, added with version 4.6, interacts with the visibility maps: as currently the fog altitudes are zero at each generated FMAP; this involves that the visibility criteria are never applied…
from what I understand, it is difficult to get this dataif is there no possibility to extract fog altitude from real-world GRIB data, couldn’t we to apply a criteria scaled according to visibility data ?
If f4wx still use the previous version numbering in the header (4.35 one …will edit this post to give the right one) then the fog altitude will be automatically populated like the previous one I.e. base of cumulus clouds
@Ahmed just make sure f4wx writes the correct version number in the header

Yep, it is still using the old version (5), as I haven’t had time to make any updates for a very long time. Can’t offer yet any ETA on any updates to use the new options (and also can’t think of any way of estimating fog altitude from available GRIB data, any ideas welcome by pm)

@bluesharp both links seem to work fine here, just checked them and they are working
-
@Ahmed Hi Ahmed. Thank you for your reply. I believe both links work well. For some reason, both links are blocked in China, so I can’t open either of them. Would you please send me a copy of the F4wx directly? Thank you very much.

@Gancio Actually I use 7 also, and unfortunatelly, I can confirm that I face the same problem also. By that, I revert back into the grb2fmap from Ahmed. I try to convert the grb file that I use for grb2fmap in F4Wx, but after I try multiple time, none being converted or showed at the map in F4Wx.

@GP1508 hello, the only solution that works well for me is to use another computer, a laptop in my case with W10. This way I am able to download and use the weather files after transferring them with a memory stick. A bit annoying but it works
-
@Gancio yep. I am not try that, my son use the 10, but I use the old grib2fmap, it is work also. Just have to make sure when I download the grib data, always pick the 0hr so that the time zone more easily so adjust.

New config data update: Ikaros preset renamed to HTO per request.

@Ahmed FMAP extracted from F4WX : Is there a problem with the cloud base: 3000ft appears with a black colour as if the value were higher than the surrounding clouds?
-
I suspect that the cells with black color are over 9000ft
