Korea Interactive navigation map released
-
installed http://www.otakusoftware.com/deskspace/ and i am running the chart on the second desktop (Ctrl/win + arrow right)
-
Yegh i know, but the printable map is diffirent then the interactive map,i think the interactive map looks alot better,…but what can not be done, can not be done…
They are the same bud.
The only thing is that when you print it you shrink it and thus reduce quality. Print it native res 68x68 cm and it will be perfect.
I know what i’m talking about, I designed them and I have the printable map on my wall in realsize

made mine now and its huge heheheheeh
Thanks again RD -
Reddog, freaking excellent work gathering and putting all the info together in one nice package. I love this thing.

Hello Red Dog!
During a Training-Flight yesterday we found out, that there might be a mistake on the Kimhae Int´l charts for the NAKDING 3A DEPARTURE and the approach-chart for TACAN RWY 16.
As it seems the precision-waypoint coordinates for the Exit Point resp. IAF JINYG are not correct. At least these coordinates do not correspond to the relating DMEs.I flew to the relating DMEs this evening. The correct precision-waypoint coordinates for JINYG at Rad. 275, DME 25, Pusan TCN (087X) should be:
N 35° 16,53
E 129° 58,74At this point Kimhae TCN (117X) shows a DME of 11 (11.3) on Rad. 290. (So does your chart for NAKDONG 3A DEPARTURE say too…)
To complete this, I checked the waypoint-coordinates for DME 16 on Rad. 275 of Pusan TCN, where the right turn for the final runway-heading of Kimhae Int´l begins, and got them with N 35° 15,77 and E 130° 09,64.
At this point Kinhae TCN shows a DME of 4 on Rad. 148. Just early enough to get a nice turn onto the final heading. Please check these informations and let me know whether I was right with it or misread / misunderstood something.
Best regards!

Red Dog my friend … Seems that Kosong is missing (Between Kum-Ni and Sokcho airstrip)
And on navigation volume also.
?..
-
Just tell Reddog where it is first…… If you are able to find it ?
-
it’s missing because it’s not appearing in te’s, but only in campaigns. And since i don’t do campaigns , I can’t see it
it’s a leftover that was never properly deleted in campaigns files - been like that for a very long time
If I add it ppl will say they can’t find it (in Te’s)

Oky … so, must be removed from Campaigns then …

Same with FF. I removed it almost 2yrs ago from all 9 campaign files prior to the release of FF5.5

Is there a specific process, or I just have to suppress the field from the map under TacEdit? … or it is more complicate?

I just looked at it in TacEdit. In Rolling Fire I see there is a squadron of Mig21MF/PFM, you’ll need to relocate that and also check each campaign file for the presence of other squadrons there and relocate them also.
Open Kosong airbases Objective Dump and delete the link to the town of Kosong. Then simply delete the Kosong objective from the map.
I recommend on the Map View after that to Build Occupation/PAK Map, Objective>Check Objectives, Units>Check Units/Rebuild Squadrons.

Why does it have to be removed at all? Doesnt it exist IRL?

Never seen it referenced anywhere: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_airports_in_North_Korea

The original falcon was full of wrong airbases.
Most of them have been removed in the Sp days (I did it - with some compromises) But Kosong slipped from the Campaign files -
There are also bases “missing”. You can find them on Google Earth. Some are just delibaretely represented wrong/different. Take a look at the areas west of Wonsan and east of Onchon. Then you will find dispersal sites with caved hangars in the mountains and strips protruding on both sides of the mountain.

Mr. Red Dog - did you ever release a “tablet” version of your marvellous interactive Air base Map?
-
i think a few guys asked permission to use my work in different IOS and android application - but they probably never updated my work since then - which is always what I fear.
I personnaly have no time (read envy) to develop applicationdid you try as it is? It should work
