Hi there, i’m pretty new to this but i am trying to host a multiplayer game.

I’ve followed all the instructions but when it comes to forwarding the port my router gives me the error of “The local ports between 2934 and 2935 on IP 192.168.0.2 have been added as virtual server already, please try another one.”

How do i get around this, i don’t have a virtual server (whatever that is).

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Hi, Are you behind a NAT? This is the first thing I would check (Happened to me in the past that I wasn’t able to host a game even though everything was setup right).

Now feeling like a total fool, what is a NAT?
The router is from my ISP and the only thing that has been changed in the options is port forwarding for other games which works fine, just not the ports for BMS.

After reading that wiki, i am none the wiser sorry. i’m not sure if i’m behind a NAT. i can forward 5 digit port numbers just not 4 digit.
              sorry for being vague.

To get a clear and sure answer you should contact your ISP and simply ask, and if they say yes then you will need to ask them kindly to remove you from being behind a NAT. If they say No then at least we will exclude that as the reason.

so are you sure your PC is using the address 192.168.0.2 ?

check it by opening a command prompt and type ipconfig /all then enter
                  look for the IPv4 Address

chances are your IP is dynamic for your PC so will change unless you setup a static address which I would recommend
what is your router make and model

Maybe your ISP switched you to IPv6? When moving into my new apartement that happend to me so I have trouble joining any servers.

What is the brand and model name of the router? It looks like that port range is already being used by another service. It would be helpful to know the model to know exactly where to look to check the setup. Also not all tests show positive results even if it’s working. Beware working with a single other user to troubleshoot. I’ve had people struggle to fix something but the problem was the other person the whole time.

Is there a server to test thats online 24h?
