IN the F/A-18C cockpit the HUD symbology field exceeds the HUD display area so that both sides of the symbology (IAS and ALT) are cut off. Adjusting zoom and FOV don’t seem to affect the appearance. How can I fix this?

press and hold your mousewheel while dragging it around or rotate the mousewheel while keeping it pressed will allow you to move your head around

Is there any way to edit the default position, possibly via text file?

OK thanks. Tested that with no effect at all; however, I am using TrackIR and in advanced controllers tried both FOV and View Zoom set as mousewheel control (no joy). If I set in advanced controllers the TrackIR to control z-axis instead of FOV, I get the desired effect and can control the apparent head position in the cockpit. So, there must be some place to adjust z-axis default.

Well, if you use TrackIR, looking around with mouse will of course not work…

Lean back, center TrackIR and go in your default position back

you can do the same with the height…

Yes, this would work, but then I can not use the TrackIR to control FOV, which I prefer. Is there no place one can alter the default Z-Axis value?

Have you tried it with the TrackIR software?

Why not just include the correct position in the game from the start?

Current situation also makes HUD RWR useless

Well, this is exactly what I am trying to do. How do I set the default position of Z-axis so it is correct when I enter the pit?

@Razo: Yes I have experimented with using the TrackIR to control Z-axis and it does work, but then I need another way to control FOV.

AFAIK, that is not posible. Some people wanted to do it to get a higher position for the head in the pit, and I didn’t see a solution for it. This is the same, I’m afraid.
BTW, I had the same feeling about the F18 HUD.
                        Cheers

Thanks, perhaps this feature will be added in the future.

Can’t it be fixed in the game’s source by the team via offset to camera position or cockpit model?
