      Hey guys,

for those who are using this program for headtracking there is new update with fixes and few changes. I am still at work but will install it later today and test the changes.

Here is the link for it: https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases/tag/opentrack-2.3.1_fix2

        Use hotfix #3 instead:

        https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases/tag/opentrack-2.3.1_fix3

We got it ironed out enough that people aren’t complaining anymore.

don’t crash with camera preview on startup for PT and aruco; thanks to @mrsanchos for searching for affected users; thanks to paseznik for installing Visual Studio and allowing remote control of his PC!

Awsome work man. I am happy with the fix2, never experienced any crash or any odd behaviour, goin from 2.3 to 2.3.1_fix2 with my tweaked settings / curves smoothens all the movement and it is now more accurate and it feels just right. I experienced some jittering with the previous version but it is gone for good 🙂

          Thanks again.

I would like to see your config files with the curves. Mine does ok, but I have a hard time looking behind me. I am using a 3 point IR with a PS3 Cam.

                Hi Sthalik,
Please, can you help me !!!
                I printed a 3D CAP part with these measurements 3.79 inches x 2.86 inches x 4.17 inches, converting to millimeters by order 3.79 inches = 96.266mm, 2.86 = 72.644mm and 4.17 = 105.92mm.
                Which measures insert opentrack?
What is the best positioning of the part in the cap?
The camera I use is a PS3 eye.
                Thank you !!!

                  @malpaso:

                  ,

                  1. Round values to whole centimeters.

                  2. Take freetrack clip dimensions, divide Z by 2 and print that. Don’t use a cap or the original Z values of the freetrack clip.

                  3. Measure from each LED’s tip.

If you have trouble with (2) causing inaccuracy, I’m releasing a build with critical fixes anyway soon and it’s gonna have a better filter.

Edit: don’t PM me with the same message if you’re replying to a thread.

In the measurements that I passed what would be x, y and z ??
I’m confused as to this issue !!!

Just want to show my appreciation. Open-source head-tracking with a PS3-eye has had a bad name somehow and to be honest, I experienced poor performance with facetracknoir a couple of years ago. Now however with the recent opentrack-releases, I cannot distinguish the performance between a tIR-unit and opentrack. Even in daylight the algorithm has no issues tracking my homebuilt IR-led side-clip and with seamless response times. Fantastic work!
