      Just wondering if I could go with a warthog stick, Cougar throttle, and use the switches and buttons on the base of the warthog throttle. Its probably not possible, but I thought I would ask.

      I have a Warthog stock hotas, and I just was able to get a stock Cougar for $100 on Ebay. It is suppose to work, hopefully I hit a wonderful deal, we will see!

      One day I hope to upgrade the Warthog with the force mod, but that will be a ways in the future.

        It should work… but IIRC the Cougar throttle needs to be plugged into the Cougar stick base… and then the base is the one that plugs into the computer. You could bypass the base with a device called the TUSBA, then use the TM WH stick and throttle as normal. Note that this all makes sense in my head… real-world results may vary! 😄

          Thanks Ice. I figured you would have to use TUSBA. Has anyone ever tried this setup using TUSBA?

            I know people using a TUSBA, yes, but I don’t remember them pairing the WH throttle with it as well… I would expect you’d just have to specify in the BMS setup which axis to look at for throttle/rng/elev and you’d be golden. Good luck!

              I use a TUSBA R2 on a Cougar TQS with a Warthog stick and it works just great. Simply assign as you would any other combination.

              May the bridges I burn light the way

                As above. Me too have this setup and works perfect for me 🙂

                  Similar problem here. Already posted it but no one replied so maybe you guys know the answer.

                  I fly with a Warthog Stick and TUSBA Cougar Throttle with a keyfile I modified myself with the DX numbers of the different buttons. The Warthog throttle is also plugged in. Yesterday I accidentally unplugged the Warthog throttle and realized that the inputs of my Cougar TQS would not work in BMS. Quit the program, plugged the WH throttle back in and everything works just fine.

                  In order to avoid this - meaning I want to be able to unplug the stuff I don’t need – do I have to change the device order in the config file?
                  And would I than have to rewrite my keyfile with the then different DX numbers?

                  I’m a bit confused.

                  P.S.: Once I additionally set the HUD brightness on the WH throttle but then I lost a couple of buttons on my Cougar TQS. I thought that all devices have different DX numbers.

                    Stevie, Papa Doc,

                    But are you guys using the Warthog Throttle’s buttons and switches that are on its base along with the cougar throttle and warthog stick?

                    Freemind, do you use the buttons on the Warthog Throttle’s base?

                    If that works, I may then get the TUSBA R2 for the cougar throttle, since what I like about the Warthog throttle is all the additional buttons and switches on it’s base, but I think the Cougar throttle would be more comfortable to use. For now I have to cool it on the spending, but that would be my future plan. I love the Warthog Hotas, but when I saw a cougar hotas on ebay for $100, I though it was worth a chance.

                      No, I am not. But I don’t see why you can’t/couldn’t as long as you don’t double assign in DX or keyfile; and null one (two?) the throttle axes on the Warthog using TARGET. If you use TARGET…I used to use a full Cougar set with my Warthog stick and simply not assign any of the Cougar stick buttons or axes in the CCP, and that worked.

                      You may be onto something about having to manually assign device order in order to preserve function when disconnected…sounds reasonable to me.

                        @Scotters:

                        Freemind, do you use the buttons on the Warthog Throttle’s base?

                        That was the idea and it should work. I was just to lazy to work on a keyfile and stoped using it altogether after I realised my VHF/UHF didn’t work as soon as I had assigned the HUD brightness to the right slider on the WH throttle. I will investigate further. As mentioned I will check out changing the device order.

                        @Scotters:

                        Sounds like a plan. I’ve got the Tumba R1 - don’t see any use in the R2 so far.
