I was just mapping my Coolie Hat to the COMM switch as per the manual and it says VHF (SimTransmitCom2) is up, UHF (SimTransmitCom1) is down. However, the included Full.key file says VHF - Down, UHF - Up. Am I reading the manual wrong?

Where the physical switch is on the throttle isn’t really up or down. VHF is “away” and UHF is “toward”. The diagram is from overhead so up on the page is maybe more toward the cockpit floor.

The finger-curling muscles activate UHF and the finger-pushing muscles activate VHF.

If I understand the question correctly, you want to know how the radioswitch is mapped on the cougar so you can map it the coolie hat from the warthog in the same manner? If that’s the case, then here’s my reasoning…

          In BMS-Full.key I see:

          Radio Switch/T2-T5

          SimTransmitCom2 19 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1 <---- T2 = VHF Transmit
          SimTransmitCom1 20 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1 <---- T3 = UHF Transmit

Looking at the following pics, I conclude the manual is wrong…
I’m assuming the manual you mean “Dunc’s Cougar DX Guide.pdf” on page 6 out of 13…

So if you’d map it onto the warthog, I guess you’ll want something like this:

          Coolie Hat

          SimTransmitCom1 21 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
          SimCommsSwitchRight 22 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
          SimTransmitCom2 23 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1
          SimCommsSwitchLeft 24 -1 -2 0 0x0 -1

This of course is supposing that you use TARGET script to combine the joystick & throttle & that it’s the first connected device, i.e. if you press “First Stage Trigger” it will show in setup under “Advanced” button “INPUT Button 1”

Hope I answered your question

            @Frederf:

            Crystal clear! Thanks Frederf! 😄

Jeez, does that mean we’re telling AWACS to come-hither and giving or Flight the Bird?

Depends which finger you’re using? 😄
