      Hello Forum.

Having completed a mission in multi player session with a friend, in which he was the host, I exited with “Esc” and the “E” key.

We intended to fly another mission.

While he had no problem, my system froze on the " Leaving aircraft, Stand by" screen.

I eventually had to use “Crtl, Alt and delete” and restart the computer.

Also, during the same session, a different mission, while we were taxiing out for take off, my screen froze.
At the top of the frozen screen, the word “pause” appeared with computer type technical text below it.

I had not paused the sim.

He had no problem and continued to take off. Again I had to resort to "Crtl, Alt and delete.

This was our first foray into the multi player arena, so perhaps we did something wrong?

      Please help.

      Thanks,

      Bayonet.

        What was the BW settings?
About the first “standby” screen, did you had an ACMI running during the flight?

It may or may not relate to you problem, but the Host should always remain in 3d until all clients have exited to 2d interface.

And wait for all to disconnect before shutting down/restarting His server.

PS: And as others have pointed out you need a decent/stable connection to the host in the first place to enjoy a problem free session.

And that does not need to be the fastest connection either, in our experience stability/consistancy mattered more.

In my experience the blue pause text us usually down to network/bandwidth problems (usually when we’ve had people with poor/slow connections in the flight).

Thank you all, the consensus appears to point to a stable and sufficiently powerful band width being the answer.

Amraam, there was no ACMI running.

Shadow, I’m almost embarrassed to ask, but here goes. The BMS user manual 9.1 refers to the 2D being discontinued.
I’m confused (obviously). Would you mind explaining your reference to 2D/3D.

              Thanks,

              Bayonet.

Can you check in your ACMI folder if you don’t have any corrupted ACMI (.flp)?

When Shadow is referencing 2D versus 3D he is talking about in the sim/cockpit versus at the UI screen not the 3D versus 2D cockpits. He is also 100% right in that if the server/host exits the cockpit prior to ALL clients exiting back to the UI you are very likely to see a client side crash for those still in the cockpit when the server/host exits to UI. They won’t see the crash until they attempt to exit.

Amraam, thanks again for your help.
No, as far as I am aware, I don’t have any corrupted ACMI files.
I know it’s a very useful tool, but I haven’t yet acquired the habit of using ACMI.
The only ACMI tapes in the ACMI tab are the four pre loaded.

Sorry I could have used a better term for the UI, 2d or map interface.
