I’m not sure how effective a simple plastic bag solution will be as a dust cover for a Warthog. Dust always seems to find a way through.

Does anyone have experience with something more tailor made? For example this example:

Hmm - I prefer an old greasy sock - perfect seal against dust and humidity…. 🙂

I’ve had a dust cover for YEARS but it’s been on the Warthog only for a total of a few hours. My Warthog has been “exposed” for the last 6+ years since it’s mounted on my simpit. No issues with performance at all.

As long as you are using it dust won’t be an issue… I remember I stored mine about 10 years ago while I was in Afghanistan and when I returned my pots were all wacky. I sprayed the enter unit with contact cleaner and I am still using them today.

The problem is there will be periods when I’m not using it, and I suspect dust will be an issue. I might have no choice but to succumb to one of these camo versions.

A gentleman over in the DCS community custom built dust covers for the WH which look a lot like the ones linked but all black versus camo. Been using them on my WH for years now. It might be overkill but better safe than sorry IMO.

I’m working on the principle that I don’t want to deal with the “stiction” issue. Perhaps it’s worth the investment to hopefully head that off at the pass.

I think you guys are making this too complicated… Anyone with a sewing machine and limited experience can sew up something for you to cover your controls. I’m sure someone in your family can sew? 🙂

But would it come in pretty camo colours? 😉

Has anyone used one of these?

The idea is so simple I’m surprised it’s not shipped with the stick itself, if it does what it’s advertised to do.
