Track IR and 3D "Snap Views"
-
I am using TrackIR and am blown away by the change in SA and realism!!
However, I’m having trouble seeing some things in the 3D pit - for example, the AC controls appear to be hidden behind an armrest or something. In one of Krause’s videos, he mentions a “snap view” that might help, but I didn’t find anything in the manuals about that.
I must be missing something easy? Please help! My avionics are sweating!!
Thanks all

You can use the 2D view. Press 2 to switch to it, and use the shifted numeric arrow keys to look around.

As you have TrackIR, it should be possible for you to move your head/body in such a manner that you can look under, or in front of the arm rest.
If not, you may have to work on your TrackIR profile.
Search this forum for Yassy’s TIR profile, or the FO forum for AS’s ‘flatline’ TIR profile.

Unfortunately that profile isn’t available any longer… its link is down.
So, as seems, the best TIR profile still remains that Yassy’s - great stuff, by the way.
With best regards,

The AC controls are behind the arm rest and as previously stated with 6 Deg of freedom engaged and a supple spine you should be able to see it - that being said if you put you pointer somewhere close to it it will snap onto the control so you can activate during RAMP.

It is also possible by using the mouse only. (center mouse button goes he mouse view in 6DOF mode)
