RC1b Bugs/Issues
-
The Gripen loadout still has problems in this update: Fuel tanks are not centered (as reported in rc1a), and when creating an interdiction flight, the loadout screen shows two MK82 bombs that cannot be unloaded.
All the best, Uwe
-
When trying to enter the TE mentioned above (created from scratch in RC1b), I can view the loadout screen in the TE editor, but trying to enter the loadout screen for an interdiction flight crashes BMS. The loadout sound starts playing, then it’s cut short and “falcon bms has stopped working” pops up.
The same thing happens on my system when trying to view the tacref for the JA-39C; the default f-18 shows fine in tacref while bms crashes trying to display the Gripen.
The test TE is attached (hopefully :D)
Cheers, Uwe

. i will look into this tacref crash and interdiction loadout crash. but the load out on j39c and d is all ok except one pylon on the outer left is missing a pair of mk82se. other than that all the tanks pods and weapons are being put in the right spot. i do see the two bombs in wrong spot automaticly loaded for interdiction. to remove them i hit the clear button. i will look into this also. thanks Uwe.
-
on outer left pylon there is a single mk81 where a double mk82se should be. under hdpt jas39(1) single mk81 needs to be changed to double mk82se. in bms edit. and this fixes d model also.

I am digging into the rack.dat file now - a lot of rack models not defined in this file. Some may have been deferred or omitted in favor of the bmsrack.dat file. However, I am going to bring our rack.dat file up to date and then check rackgroups to see if we are calling the correct groups. I suspect what is occurring is we are not getting what we thought we were supposed to get. Once the rack.dat file is updated we should see a significant improvement in hardpoint/loudout presentation. We will be doing a similar job on the bmsrack.dat file. I think this will clean up most if not all of our loadout issues in 3d world.
-
After renaming the d3dx9.dll file (or whatever it’s called :D) in my Bin/x86_64 folder I can now view the Gripen in TacRef fine.
All the best, Uwe

@ Ned and Gavin - please note Uwe’s fix . . . others might encounter this Tacref bug . . . and having this as a possible remedy may prove helpful for some.

Re: the Su-7 acicon and enroute icons . . . for a quickee fix I am resetting the Su-7 image icon to the use the MiG-19 - that is a pretty close approximation and will work just fine for now.
Re: the A-50 - that will require a total rebuild of the enroute icons - it seems that my image for the NE enroute icon didn’t get copied for some reason and I will need to remaster the icon . . . and then rebuild the entire enroute icon set to get those NE/SE/SW/NW directions of the A-50 to show up in air and war . . . I am really sorry I missed that. I am going defer that task for now … at least something is showing up for the A-50 and it will be the only RED colored enroute icon looking like an A-10, in the game . . . for NE/SE/SW/NW.

Hello!
I have been doing some flying in northen sweden and found that I cant set tower radiofreq at Vidsel, both UHF and VHF is out.
Amsele(Åmsele),Kallax,Heden and Lycksele is OK.
Think I am going to check the rest airbases in sweden. -
thanks YetY. i will check the stationsils file. also just fixed pakmap showing korea borders in resource\intel file. and updated xplanes for new chopers and to many su34. cheers

hey those havocs look pretty good! i added them to all but the two oldest vintage camps. now im going to try to see them in 3d action.

. we can fix these unwanted bombs in pod spot by making a specialized define in bmsrack file. but we better wait for the dust to settle on Rangers rack work first.

“Ranger’s Rack Work” now that is a tongue twister. Starrats has sort of made my research on the rack.dat file obsolete
After digging thru our old rack.dat file we have a lot of missing racks/rails/pylons missing but I believe most if not all are probably accounted for in the bmsrack.dat. Due to the way bmsrack.dat defines things, with whole groups of wpns etc, it does seem to make things a big easier to handle and seems to increase the options/combinations of racks/rails/pylons that work with wpns. For now I have recapture about 60 missing items in the rack.dat but there doesn’t seem to be any need to specify rackgroups since it appears the aircraft definitions needed were done in bmsrack.dat. A/c like the m2k, av8b and jaguar for example are missing rack group definitions but are covered with bmsrack.dat definitions. There remain some problems with some CTs not fully cleaned up, and in three cases racks were converted to wpns and some other racks assume new rack spots.
I went thru and updated the bmsrack.dat and acdata fixs with Starrats files and after I cleaned up the two Gripens and the F-104G Norway things are looking pretty good.
The generic definitions still don’t allow for single bombs to have a proper set of bomb braces but I think we can work that out later if we think about it. I think for now I am going to clear the racks definitions and let beta testers put the a/c thru their paces and report any other bad loadouts.

I decided to bite the bullet on the icons and all the icons are fixed now . . . ie. redid the A-50 NE icon and made a new acicon and enroute icons for the Su-7.
Less you all get the idea that more icons are on the way, they aren’t for the near future. Perhaps, at a later date I will look at mastering some new icons . . . Here is the list that I had to make a decision to make or not make and these were low priority and deferred until later. Adding two icons took me about three hours. So, next time I do this I will need a lot more icons to make to make it worth the time to do. Hopefully folks can live with the icons we have now. . . it is quite a bit more than BMS currently has in Korea. In many cases, enroute icons can be copied and renamed - ie like the F-102 and Mirage are interchangeable - really almost anything with an all delta wing looks like any other icon when you shrink these down to 25x25 pixel size icons. The real problem is the imageids.id file tracks the image number so if you want a custom acicon for an a/c it will get linked to the image id string and will need a corresponding enroute icon set . . . and that is a bit of a hassle to add. The bulk of the time is running the program to build all the icons but keeping track of all the items and pasting all the overwriting files and so forth 64 times is prone to error and it only takes one error and things get messed up. So, it may require a few iterations to get all the mistakes worked out.

I am judging by the total lack of beta test issues that we are - um almost perfect now?
I am going to wait another week or so to see if you come up with anything else, otherwise . . . maybe we are getting pretty close to a genuine release candidate.

Ranger and all you friends here,
here I am - in a hurry, because I’m at work. My deep apologies, but I had no Web connection at home until yesterday in the evening, and also this way it’s still unstable.
If in time, I’m going to try to start doing my part with Uwe too, if he’s still available to of course, and I will keep you all updated about consequently.Starrats, only is you think it useful, would you kindly send me the new ils+dat file?
Thanks a lot in advance.Have a nice day all, with my best regards.

Hello!
Here is a report of the rest of my flights from Sweden airbases.(All Sweden airbases are now done) I have been doing simple TE´s most Training and a couple of TASMO. I used mostly Swedish AC´s but also F-16 and a test flight in an F18.
I did try to set the tower freq. from DTC:
Kiruna: UHF and VHF=OK Kalixfors: UHF and VHF= OK Gällivare: UHF and VHF=OK Jokkmokk: UHF and VHF is a no go. Piteå: UHF and VHF sets but in pit I get the outside my airspace call.
Fällfors:UHF and VHF=OK Skellefteå: UHF and VHF sets but in pit I get the outside my air space call. Gunnarn: UHF and VHF=OK Umeå: UHF and VHF sets but in pit I get the outside my airspace call.
Kubbe:UHF and VHF sets but in pit I get the outside my airspace call. Örnsköldsvik:UHF and VHF=OK Hallviken(owned by Germany):UHF and VHF=OK.
The tower radio subtitles show the korea tower (have you been working on that?)
The Swedish munitions Rb 27,Rb 71 Skyflash, AGM RB-05, AGM BK90, ASM RB 04E, ASM RBS-15, M/70 Rkt Pod, U95 are not included in Tac Ref (can also be not worked on?)Hoover and Jackal are you testing the Norweigian bases?
Should I go for the Finnish/Russian bases?Cheers
YetY -
No work on the Subtitles yet. they still show Korea names. I havent even figured out where they come from yet.
I will pm you on the airbase radio issue. if anyone else had this prob let me know like above, but i think we have a discrepancy file because i cant duplicate these issues.
Tacref is being updated right now.
Thanks YetY!
if this quick fix works i will post it here

I found and old te that i couldnt get Jokkmok to work on. I am on bad slow computers right now and will check later. I know they work in this campaign folder though.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ioihxhpns0mu30a/Add-On_Nordic_camp_and_pak_map_fix.rar
the only thing i can think of that happened is airbase objectives were numbered wrong somehow. this should work.
