I have the cougar and the simped non usb rudder pedals without toe brakes. My problem is the cougar control panel manual calibration routine thinks that there are toe brakes and won’t let me complete the routine. I remember that someone had a fix by way of some setting in the hotas config file or something but I don’t remember how to do it. Do any of you know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I finally found the answer to this problem. I found it on Cougar World. I needed to change the Hotas ini for RCStype to 1.

Hi jhon, i have the same problem but I change the RCStype and still doesn´t work.
I follow all the step like Cougar Worls say but the toe brakes are not showing in the falcon bms controller setup.

I have not more ideas of what can I do…

          Regards

I found that on one of my computers, that I had to set the Hotas cougar control to run as administrator and save to device to make it work.

Thanx - I’ll try that. Looking for a fix for years!! Up to now, for manual calibration I connected an old analog joystick to the remaining connector of the simped cable, just so I could create some values that were accepted for the toe brakes during the manual calibration routine…

So if I change ini file as you described, the manual calibration won’t ask anymore for the toe brakes?

Hi jhon, i have the same problem… <snip>…the toe brakes are not showing in the falcon bms controller setup.

                Regards</snip>

Well, I am not sure your problem is really the same.
The problem with the manual calibration was the opposite: It kept asking for moving the toe brakes, eventhough none were connected. So you can’t complete the manual calibration routine.

Meanwhile your quote sound more like you actually have toe brakes connected, but they are inactive in the CCP? That would be a different story.

                Greets!

I have the toe brakes and rudder circuit made it

So, here is my actual status:

The CCP recognise all the axis (10 axis), I can set all the axis in calibration mode too … buuuut, in the falcon bms controller setup ( i mean in game setup) that 2 axis, the toe brakes are not showing.
I was reading a lot of post in some forums and i read some solutions like your post but in my case, this solutions are not working. I´m not using the Dunc´s profile, I´ll try it right now.

                  Sorry for my inglish…. 😄

                  Regards Jhonn and Hornet!

You might like to look at THIS to run the rudders for you. It’ll run any rudder pedal that connects through a Cougar. Another expense but gets it all working and calibrated etc.

That´s looks like a beautiful solution but the money is not the problem, the real problem is the custom.

I desist by now. I´ll just rebuild my franky rudder using an all joystick…

                      Thanks for the help guys.

                      Cheers
