Top Gun Views for JanHas's LVN3
-
I have created some additional Top Gun Views as many as possible.
Hopefully, it will help you to collect footage for video production, or screenshots more simply. For editing the data, I referenced this post by Shung.
His explanation helped me a lot to understand how the view sysytem works. Thank you, Shung!
And I also would like to thank JanHas for his dedication for a long time. You can set the views by editing .dat in Acdata folder.
However, unfortunately, current specification of Falcon BMS doesn’t allow us to set more than five Top Gun Views.
It means that, we have to select four views from the list in below.
The following codes are lined up in order of each views in the top image. You need to be careful about the following things, otherwise the view won’t work correctly.
1. Change the number after “TopGunCamera” on each lines.
2. Remove comment out mark (#) placed top on the each lines.#TopGunCamera1 7 18.1 -0.85 -2.95 -2 158.5 0 44.5 #Cockpit, High, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 18.1 0.85 -2.95 -2 -158.5 0 44.5 #Cockpit, High, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 17.65 -0.22 -2.85 3.5 174 0 45 #Cockpit, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 17.65 -0.275 -2.85 3.5 178 0 35 #Cockpit, Left, Strafe #TopGunCamera1 7 18 0.25 -1.65 22 -172.5 0 55 #Cockpit, Right, Low angle #TopGunCamera1 7 18 0.25 -2.25 13 -173 0 50 #Cockpit, Right, Medium angle #TopGunCamera1 7 9 -5.5 -2.5 -8 30 0 70 #Gunport, Forward #TopGunCamera1 7 16 -4.5 -2 -5 -175 0 70 #Gunport, Backward #TopGunCamera1 7 14 -4 -4 -20 51 0 70 #Canopy side, Forward, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 14 4 -4 -20 -51 0 70 #Canopy side, Forward, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 4 0 3.6 -5 0 0 70 #Nose Gear, Forward #TopGunCamera1 7 15.5 0 4.5 -5 180 0 70 #Gear, Backward #TopGunCamera1 7 -10 0 3.25 -5 0 0 70 #Gear, Forward #TopGunCamera1 7 4 -20 2 12.5 60 0 70 #Refuel, Upward, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 4 20 2 12.5 -60 0 70 #Refuel, Upward, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 0 -200 -10 0 80 -4.1 35 #Refuel, Tanker, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 0 200 -10 0 -80 4.1 35 #Refuel, Tanker, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 2 2.5 -5 -40 -120 0 70 #Refuel door #TopGunCamera1 7 18 10 5 10 -135 0 70 #TGP, Wide #TopGunCamera1 7 18 10 5 9 -134 0 35 #TGP, Narrow #TopGunCamera1 7 -2 -15 1.45 0 7.5 0 60 #AIM-9, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 -2 15 1.45 0 -7.5 0 60 #AIM-9, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 -3 -15 1.45 0 7.5 0 60 #AIM-9, Left, Moved back #TopGunCamera1 7 -3 15 1.45 0 -7.5 0 60 #AIM-9, Right, Moved back #TopGunCamera1 7 -3 -15 1.45 7.5 7.5 0 60 #AIM-9, Left, Moved back, Upward #TopGunCamera1 7 -3 15 1.45 7.5 -7.5 0 60 #AIM-9, Right, Moved back, Upward #TopGunCamera1 7 -4 -18 1 13 14 0 60 #AIM-9, Wingtip, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 -4 18 1 13 -14 0 60 #AIM-9, Wingtip, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 -7 -18 -2 -5 40 0 60 #Wingtip, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 -7 18 -2 -5 -40 0 60 #Wingtip, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 80 0 -40 -27.5 180 0 39 #Refuel, Downward, Wide #TopGunCamera1 7 80 0 -40 -32.5 180 0 22.5 #Refuel, Downward, Nose #TopGunCamera1 7 80 0 -40 -29.85 180 0 9 #Refuel, Downward, Cockpit #TopGunCamera1 7 17 0 -4 29 0 0 110 #Refuel, Nose, Upward #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 -422 3 -0.25 59 -3 20 #Weapon release, Left, Centered #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 422 3 -0.25 -59 3 20 #Weapon release, Right, Centered #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 -422 -40 -4.75 58.5 -3 4 #Weapon release, Left, Centered, Zoomed #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 422 -40 -4.75 -58.5 3 4 #Weapon release, Right, Centered, Zoomed #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 -422 3 -0.95 56.5 -3 12 #Weapon release, Left, Not centered #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 422 3 -0.95 -56.5 3 12 #Weapon release, Right, Not centered #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 -422 3 0 56.5 10 12 #Weapon release, Left, 10 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 422 3 0 -56.5 -10 12 #Weapon release, Right, 10 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 -422 3 0.2 56.5 20 12 #Weapon release, Left, 20 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 422 3 0.2 -56.5 -20 12 #Weapon release, Right, 20 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 -422 3 1 56.5 30 12 #Weapon release, Left, 30 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 422 3 1 -56.5 -30 12 #Weapon release, Right, 30 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 -422 3 2 56.5 45 12 #Weapon release, Left, 45 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 -250 422 3 2 -56.5 -45 12 #Weapon release, Right, 45 deg Rolled #TopGunCamera1 7 16 -3 -4 -20 20 0 70 #Nose, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 16 3 -4 -20 -20 0 70 #Nose, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 17 -1 -4 -18 7.5 0 70 #Nose, Middle Left #TopGunCamera1 7 -8 -4.5 -2 2 172.5 0 70 #6 o'clock, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 -8 4.5 -2 2 -172.5 0 70 #6 o'clock, Right #TopGunCamera1 7 -32 -13 4 10 20 0 60 #Nozzle, Left #TopGunCamera1 7 -32 13 4 10 -20 0 60 #Nozzle, Right

Tried to change the default Top Gun Camera 2 (Cockpit left towards pilot) by “Cockpit, High, Right” (post #1:Top row, 2nd picture from left). So I changed the default line in Data/Sim/Acdata/F16ambe.dat to:
TopGunCamera2 7 +18.10 +0.85 -2.95 -2.00 -158.50 +0.00 44.5 #Cockpit, High, Right
But the Top Gun Views haven’t changed when I fly the BAF F-16 MLU. What am I doing wrong?
Thx

Hi Doc
Try exchanging the “7” with “2”:
#TopGunCamera 2 18.1 0.85 -2.95 -2.00 -158.50 0 44.5Best regards

This is how it looks in Data/Sim/Acdata/f16xx. I guess the 7 is mandatory. The second line (“Camera2”) is the altered one.

Hi Doc.
Sorry. Was answering from memory…. (wich obviously failed me):?
My bad.Try have a look at this link:
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?10454-Is-it-possible-to-edit-top-gun-views-positionI’m not sure you need the “+” for the positve values but maybe the link above will give you some hints.
Best Regards. ZoomOut

JFYI,
VALUES ANALYSIS:
TopGunCameraX (where X = 1 to 4 cameras) “7” (always: 7) / “x-offset (-x: back, x: front)” / “y-offset (-y: left, y: right)” / “z-offset (-z: top, z: buttom)” / “x-rotation (-x: back, x: front)” / “y-rotation (-y: left, y: right)” / “z-rotation (-z: top, z: buttom)” / “FOV (degrees)”
You can play with LE in Edit model mode so to check where the mouse cross is aiming thus find and micro adjust the numbers.
