RE: Should I have to install Microprose Falcon 4 CD to install and run BMS ?
Well, not the outcome I was expecting. I was able to install Win11 23H2 with success. Unfortunately, my good (very old) ASUS ROG laptop fried something during a routine Windows update. Smells like a power supply from experience. Oh well, time to upgrade to a desktop!!!

Nothing else has been needed until yesterday. Will run right off the harddrive with no extra applications needed. The 32-bit Setup.exe file would run fine as long as you ran it as an admin.

RE: Should I have to install Microprose Falcon 4 CD to install and run BMS ?
Ah! I guess I left out the interesting bits…
While I do have the original Microprose binder and disk, I’ve since just copied the disc installation files/folders to a storage HDD and run it off my hard-drive. Its been foolproof until yesterday.
However, I think I may know the root cause of my trouble. Seems during the Win11 installation that the Windows Security Core Isolation > Memory Integrity got enabled. I think the OS install may have been jacked-up so I’m running through another new/clean install to see if it improves or not.

RE: Should I have to install Microprose Falcon 4 CD to install and run BMS ?
Just wanted to pass along something I just ran across with installing the F4 disc on Windows 11 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3296).
Long story short, did a brand new from scratch install of Win 11 23H2 with no issues. When I ran the Setup.exe nothing would happen. System remained running - no crashes or lockups - but the old installer would not load. I never had this problem in previous Win 11 (22 or 21) versions. I did get a workaround by booting into Win 11 Safe Mode and was able to install it without problems. Hoping this may help others if having a similar issue.
On a side note, the 23H2 seems to be very sluggish on my computer compared to the other versions as well. Seems there must be a lot more going on behind the scenes with Micr$oft’s new version. So far, I’m not a fan.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@linknet No issues at all today. Was able to load up and fly around. No errors when resetting either profile. I guess it was a one-time event but will let you know if it keeps happening. Thanks for the support!!!

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@linknet I’ll try to grab a screenshot the next time it happens, but I did write down the exact text. I have my processes slimmed down so I was having problems grabbing the image.
I don’t typically do a profile reset so I may just be outside the normal (or way off on average) The Wife Unit isn’t due back home until tomorrow, so I should be able to test it again this evening and provide an update and any repro steps.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
Just curious if I’m the only one experiencing this, I occasionally get a popup alert when resetting the profile with an error message:
Line 12942 (File 'C:\Bin\AutoDataUpdate.exe)
Error: Unknown function nameI have the latest Helios version installed and everything seems to work fine in BMS and the touchscreen panel once the sim loads. Both types of kneeboards (BMS & WDP) seem to work fine. I can provide any additional information if needed.

RE: FPS DROP IN THE NEW FALCON BMS 4.36

Then, after rivatuner came in, and limit the FPS, with all vertical / gsync off, this the game changer thing, I drag all the way to right, high resolution textures on, all shader except particle shader for smoke on, no stutter at all.I hope you find your path mate to get rid the stutter.
best wishes and regards,
-GP-Thanks for the added input! I tested with Process Lasson and Afterburner but did not get any noticeable improvements, but I will certainly add the Rivatuner into the mix and see how it goes. To your point, maybe it is a trifecta kind of thing with BMS?!

RE: FPS DROP IN THE NEW FALCON BMS 4.36
Have Process Lasson running and getting about the same FPS as I did with other affinity settings via Task Manager. Honestly, I probably have no real clue on how best to use it. It does seem like a cool application and will keep trying it out.
Playing now in fullscreen with GSYNC enabled seems better than boarderless, but I haven’t been able to improve the FPS and the stutters keep happening panning left or right. I think the stutters are more annoying than the FPS.
