RE: New to BMS 4.33 and need guide
If you’re trying to learn a study-level simulator like the F-16, or A-10C, then I strongly recommend joining a virtual fighter wing. Most good ones are perfectly happy to take on new guys who have only a basic understanding of the aircraft. As long as they have a reputation for friendliness any one will do really.

RE: A Very warm Thank You to the BMS Development Team!
Just spent a couple of hours in 4.33.
What can I say? WOW! WOW WOW WOW. So many improvements. Flying around Kunsan was a huge pleasure. Trying the F-18C and D models just brought a massive smile to my face and tonight marked my first ever BMS carrier landings.
I am genuinely taken aback. To the BMS developers, what can I say? Extremely well done! I’m gob-smacked!

RE: Payware for BMS - Your thoughts?
Here are my 2 cents regarding paying money and Falcon BMS. If any money were to go into this from we the adoring fan base I would suggest that it be done in the following way:
1. The BMS devs register and set up a not-for-profit distribution company and enable a donation button.
2. Whenever we decide that we’re super grateful for everything they have given to us, we click on that button and donate.
3. At the non-profit, each time the accumulated donations reach a certain value, each BMS developer / contributor is automatically sent a case of their favourite beer paid for from those donations.
I know it sounds like I jest, but I’m more than a little serious

RE: Crosswind Landings / "Impossible Landing" TE / Crosswind landing advice
I’ll check that, that can be useful indeed.
It make sense that landing one wheel after the other leads to less yaw oscillation on the ground due to the tire landing sideways : 1 wheel will cause half the torque of both ;). And it makes sense as well to land the outside wheel (for example: wind from the left, nose pointed left -> left wheel), because if you land the inside wheel first, your roll attitude will cause the wind to increase the roll instead of going back to level roll attitude. The wind will come under the wing, and cause roll.
That being said, the roll needs to be carefully timed : too early, it will interfere with your trajectory, causing you to turn into the wind ; too late (ie : the roll itself cause the wheel to land), you can damage your gear by touching down the wheel too hard.
Anyway, for crosswinds, first and foremost, you need to have a low vertical speed. Do that, and everything becomes much easier. Good practice for regular landings too, your flare abilities will increase greatly.
Spot on! I tend to approach as if I’m going to touch down both wheel simultaneously and roll the outside wheel down a second or two before touchdown. The roll doesn’t need to be drastic, just enough so it’s not too hard after a couple of practice runs.

RE: Crosswind Landings / "Impossible Landing" TE / Crosswind landing advice
Quick tip for anyone struggling with strong crosswinds in BMS. If you touch down with the outside wheel first (i.e. nose pointing left, then left wheel) the nose corrects very stably and the simulator lands with far less drama than if you touch down with both wheels or the inside wheel. By far less drama I mean nearly no drama really.
Just an observation that I hope proves useful…

RE: Iff you could have one thing in the next update it would be. (Archive)
adjustable flight stick control so it isn’t so sensitive
Get an X65F. It has four buttons for exactly that purpose.

RE: Wallpapers
For me the US hardware looks professional, well engineered and cool. But the Russian hardware (especially the SU-27 and family) look somehow threatening, like there’s something evil, sleek and deadly there but with jagged edges intentionally left there to hurt you. I really couldn’t say which of the F-15, F-16, Su-27 and Mig-29 I like the look of the most. My opinion oscillates day-to-day. F-16 probably wins at the end of the day but perhaps biased because I just love being in the BMS PIT so much! Also, it’s smaller more clinical airframe does scream of lethal agility!

RE: Who are those guys in log book pilot photo?
Jean-Claude Van Damme did the Volvo commercial. Chuck Norris did his on the wings of Military Transports w/ an inverted pyramid of soldiers on his shoulders.
The thing about Chuck Norris’ stunt that terrified me was that if he slipped and fell from that altitude, the impact would have destroyed the planet!!!What you mean to say is that if the planet slipped and fell toward him!
