RE: 4.37 VR cockpit scale feels off
@Snake122 said in 4.37 VR cockpit scale feels off:
Guys,
Just saying, I realized people saying the cockpit feels “small” that could be interpreted either way. To me with the Pimax 8k X having parallel projections checked, the cockpit feels “small” in the sense that everything is too close to me, making everything bigger than normal (ICP, HUD) but smaller distances involved. I didn’t realize that we could be describing the same thing, so please give a little bit more of a descriptor there if you could in more physical reference.
I would say from sitting in the real F-16 and cockpit trainer multiple times, it is one of the smaller fighter jets out there and everything feels tight, close, but accessable. The F-15 on the other hand has the reputation to feel very roomy and spacious like “an old Cadillac,” partly due to the nose diameter with it’s large radar dish. Unfortunately, this is one of those things that doesn’t always translate as well until you sit in them for real.

@spotdott I’ve sat in the real jet several times, and yes the MFDs are beyond your knees.
Pic to illustrate.
In 4.37 VR with Quest 2 see the MFDs just above my ankles, not my knees, and the pilot legs at the same height of my belly button
I think something is weird, not a showstopper (I love falcon in VR!) But I hope it can be fixed
Best regards
Just saying, your actual body or the VR pilot body? It matters because RL F-16 seat is much different position than an office chair.
Sorry I didn’t explained well, I mean:
In 4.37 VR with Quest 2 I see the VR MFDs just above the VR pilot ankles, not above his knees, and the VR pilot legs at the same height of my real body belly button (but the VR pilot eyes at the same height of my real body eyes)
I fly on a chair with the backrest not vertical but 30 degrees aft
I think the cockpit in VR is very tiny
Best regards

@rubbra I see the Per-Application Video settings of SteamVR, 3 options there, but there’s no " world scale" option. Am i missing something?
Hi
You need BMS running to see “world scale” setting

RE: FPS optimization for campaigns
Hi again
Correction: i did more testing (Quest 2 VR, Balkans theater) and I think I was wrong: To see the tanker at 5 nm I have to set the object detail to 7, if I set it to 1 I can only see the tanker at 1 - 2 nm!
Anybody can confirm this?
Best regards

RE: [VR] "My legs are small and my cockpit is tiny" fix
Hi, a quest 2 user here
I followed your steps to the letter but I can’t find any option “World Scale” in Steam VR --> Settings --> Video , even in Advanced settings
Can you post a picture of the setting?
EDIT: Solved, my mistake, you need BMS running to see that setting
Best regards

RE: FPS optimization for campaigns
@danaos75 said in FPS optimization for campaigns:
For me object detail on the setup–>graphics tab on BMS is a major fps killer. I now have the slider to object detail 1. @airtex2019 can you confirm? Apparently that slider has to do with LOD per distance. But I really can’t see the difference from inside the cockpit.
Hi
Some say with object detail 1 you cant see contacts unless well inside 5nm. Yesterday I tried an AAR TE and the tanker suddenly pop up at 5nm! But not a single pixel but several pixels with the shape of a tanker.
I will return to object detail 7 for the moment

RE: Download incremental patches 4.36
OK, it is done now, 4.36.U3 is installed
But before I made a copy of the oldConfig folder. What archives can I restore from there? Logbook, Hotas?
Regards! -
RE: Download incremental patches 4.36
Thank you, I will delete BMS 4.36.0 and I will install 4.36.3 full installer
What archives can I backup from 4.36.0? Logbook, Config…?

Download incremental patches 4.36
Hi all
I try to download 3 incremental patches for 4.36.0 but the magnet link only downloads 4.36.3 full setup.zip
Sorry if it is an user error but I am many months out of BMS, just returning
