RE: A golden era ahead for BMS
A new ultra fast pc is about to be ordered.
The one and only reason is 4.38…
My mind believes this is a valid justification…

RE: What is something you wish you knew before committing to BMS
@aviationplus I wished I had bought bitcoin in time, it would have had a profound effect in building speed

RE: 2023 - Retrospective from a BMS team member
Hi Max,
The huge amount of appreciation I have for you and all the developer members is hard to express.
A large amount of my life is revolving around the simulator I have build over the years.
And signs are there that 2024 is going to lift things to a whole new level. The coming of 4.38 is highly anticipated, since it will probably coincide here with new things related to the simpit.
Never expected this passion could go so far, and much of it is thanks to all the developers.Wishing everyone here a spectacular 2024 and dreams do come true

RE: Question for Thrustmaster F16 Viper TQS
@skippermike
Fine adjusting a throttle with a short TQS arm is very hard, especially if it is a potmeter system.
With a longer arm on a light friction setting it completely different.
And watch videos how dynamic pilots are on the throttle in formation or tanker formation, constant adjustments, no fixed setting but a continue tiny adjustment. -
RE: F16V (Block 70)
Perhaps a bit overstated
With Yame64 and Helios we are already simulating it.
The are already homebuilt cockpits with a CPD working.
I use yame and it is awesome, with a bit more development and debugging it would be perfect.Idealy I would prefer to have a CPD integrated in BMS, nothing classified there.
A moving map with integrated flight plan, a fuel management page and what not, it is so incredible awesome. -

Please shall we leave politics out of this forum, I respect anyones opinion but this is not the place to discuss this.
This is one of the few places that is without politics, let’s keep it like that!

RE: A golden era ahead for BMS
@Mike-0 Ok I get your point, the upgrade has also to do with adding 2 more projectors.
So in total it will come to:
1 ATD
2 MFD
1 CPD
3 projectors (for that 180deg fov)Right now my fps dip sometimes, but being the pragmatic guy as I am, I was thinking to go in the direction of i9-14900 with a RTX4090.
The current pc has been faithfully running for 10+ years now -

RE: ChatGPT's answer about the flight model of BMS
@Wazaza Still a nice read and makes me curious what Doctor-Chat says about the ‘other’ simulator

RE: Kneeboards for simpit builders
@Atlas Basically I use the printed paper(s) on my kneeboard for mission specifics, I used Weapon Delivery Planner a lot.
Now I fill in pre-printed charts, that is easy because mission planning is a thing anyway in BMS.
On the iPad mini I use databased stuff, like charts of airports, checklists, emergency stuff (but in my little perfect world never needed:-))I don’t prefer the sim to connect with my iPad, maybe pre-planned mission info uploaded but not realtime interaction.
In reality pilots work like this and that’s how I prefer it.
Because I literally sit in a 1:1 cockpit and physically have those strapped on my legs, so that’s the reason why.
Sometimes in full gear when we create insta content.Besides that I made A5 size binders for the theaters I fly in and keep those in the map box.
There so much good stuff included in BMS that is worth to print and bind.Creativity is your friend, so do whatever is good for you like Stevie says working with jpegs, perfect.

RE: Kneeboards for simpit builders
@Gordo
I use an iPad mini for charts, lists and diagrams
Then printed missions on a MXU-163P
