Read the paper…draw your own conclusion. I think I have work to do here still.
Do you know where to find the paper?
There was debate about putting this in. Well, that’s to say I didn’t think it was a good approach. Putting it in an setting the default to zero is harmless in the end though because it allows people to choose to use it if they really feel like it. My primary issue with it is that the scaling algorithm is based on scientific method research done with actual combat pilots…setting the threshold non-zero results in deviation from the carefully researched scaling factor. In other words the result it some scaling the effect of which is no longer realistic considering range and target size and human factors in perception.
But wouldn’t varying screen sizes and resolutions make that scientific research largely non-applicable anyway?
Someone there before you… this one should work for a couple of days:

Does anyone have CM Print V 4.50 Beta 1 ?
I would like to download it a CH Hangar,but,can’t register on there site…
A problem evidently on their end.dfang
Here you go https://file.io/hZ6Wkd
{only good for one download)
I presume there is some way to do this in the real jet…perhaps with an FLCS RESET?..I’ll end up doing further research, but unless and until I can find a way it’s really done I’ll “cheat” it my way.
I was thinking that in real life maybe there’s never a benefit to centering it, as you’re never in perfectly stable conditions. Just a hypothesis…
I’ve learned the hard way to keep my thumb off of the CMS switch - I find it far too easy to inadvertently actuate the switch (especially on my Cougar; Ive programmed a slight delay into that one to make it react only to a positive actuation) and waste chaff or flare. What I use to center trim is the red button on the side of the stick - that’s the NWS button. Double-click that with my index finger and I’m trim-centered; double CMS ->down and the hat is trim, CMS -> down for greater than 0.5 sec returns to POV control.
Oh I see - it’s two separate actions, not a press-while-hold thing. Might try that myself.
One thing I may retain is double-click of my NWS/WPN STEP button to center my trims…“cheating”, but I do like that one,
I noticed the real thing doesn’t have the center option - presumably in real life there’s always something causing the plane to not quite fly straight and level, unlike the sim.
Since I’m using a Warthog stick I generally like to use CMS->down as my shift key.
Not sure I understand - how do you trim if your thumb’s on CMS already?
Since you mention infantry, if the target happens to be AK47, SA7 etc., I’m not sure if they show up on radar. Maybe someone can clarify.
@Smokin:
entice my ground units to advance?
Right-click them, uncheck ‘set by hq’, double-click them and drag the waypoint to an objective. Can also then right-click them, scroll down and check the action is set to ‘capture’.
@Smokin:
know after the fact if I won or lost a campaign?
Check your log book which might say something like 1 / 0 / 0 under campaigns. That said in your situation it’s shown a win for me when really it was a stalemate.
1. Pylons, adapters, launchers, tanks, etc. add small amounts of DI each, single to small double digits DI. A fairly slick post-attack DI might be as low as 50 but often 100 or a touch more. I’d have to run a few but 50% of the loaded DI is probably a good rule of thumb. 380-400KCAS up to M0.82-0.84 should do.
Thanks, I’ve been assuming 100, so sounds like I’m in the right ball park at least.
Home profile should understand your DI based on SMS and reinforce a particular speed.
Ah - I didn’t consider that.
2. which is not including any allowances for climb or dive at all.
Good to know, I did wonder why it would tell me to decrease my altitude if I’m high.
