Minor bug: When the pinky switch is pressed in TV mode the image “jumps”. According to the documentation there is only 1 FOV in TV mode so I assume the button shouldn’t do anything.
This is with the Sniper pod.
I haven’t done any AG in a long time, could be an old issue 4.36 or earlier.

RE: VR Noob. Does Quest 2 require link cable?
@danster Sorry I check the forums rarely.
Cable: If you have problems even with the cable it could be a performance issue or link issue.
-Try to lower the quest 2 resolution in the oculus app.
-Turn anti aliasing off in BMS.
-Oculus debug tool can limit the mbps for the cable, that can be an issue too.
-You need a proper usb3 slot and cable, I bought several until I finally got an actual USB3 spec despite the webshop said it’s usb3 (but if the oculus app is not complaining about it you are good).
-Could be CPU limitation too as it goes through an USB cable it’s more CPU intensive than a normal HDMI connection.
-Check SteamVR and set it to 100% and turn all the junk off so it is effective bypassed or try to use OpenComposite (I don’t if it works with BMS).Wifi: You needs a stable 100 mbps+ wifi connection. Then play with the settings in Virtual Desktop and quest link you can set the bandwidth. I have 90mpbs set in virtual desktop I think and my wifi goes up to 250 mbps.
I have a 5800X3D with a 3070.

RE: VR Noob. Does Quest 2 require link cable?
@danster Yes, I can see some “jpeg” compression but overall it’s ok, I have very good stable wifi 5. I’m just lazy to fire Virtual Desktop up and it messes with audio devices etc. but I used it for a long time and it should be better. First you could try fixing bandwidth in air link settings on quest 2 but then it will stutter when your wifi is not fast enough (instead of changing to bad quality). Stable 100mbps+ wifi connection is a must. If your wifi is ok and it still looks bad try Virtual Desktop.

RE: VR Purple screen in 3D then crash
@unkindled Thanks, disabling shadow maps did the trick, looks like a very heavy airport I get 28 fps in VR if I look towards the other planes.

VR Purple screen in 3D then crash
I’ve tried a bunch of training missions and I had 2 missions played in this campaign, no issues but when I try to play this KTO mission (T/O time 7:55, taxi) I get a purple screen with occasional flashing real frames then a crash after ~5 seconds.
Works fine on a monitor.
Tried it several times the result is the same.
No crash logs. -
RE: 4.37 VR bugs Quest2
Air link / virtual desktop is probably not recommended by BMS devs so there is one less thing to debug but at least air link works fine for me. Btw this is with wifi 5 (even pc to router is wifi 5) but a better one.
I have the head movement issue too: it is lagging but only head movement, not rotation and the rendered image is not lagging either (e.g. radar cursor on FCR) I assume there is some smoothing on head movement applied in BMS (maybe unintentionally coming from trackir code?).
Additional minor issue: zooming in with the toggle zoom, zooms in but distorts the image, distortion is not updated (or not correctly) for the lower FOV.
Update:
After using the settings in https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/23871/couple-notes-to-vr-users the head movement issue seems to disappeared.Update 2:
I went back to using the rendering thread the head movement lag is back. -
RE: VR Noob. Does Quest 2 require link cable?
@flavel Tested with air link works fine no latency issues, if bandwidth is not enough it will switch to lower resolution and keep low latency.

RE: Launch without any setup override and VR switch
@chihirobelmo No need to apologize you did what is possible, thanks again!
I’m running win 11 other than that obviously it’s a fresh install so I put it in the weird bugs category -
RE: Launch without any setup override and VR switch
@chihirobelmo If it works for you it must be some local issue then, thanks for the help.

RE: Launch without any setup override and VR switch
@chihirobelmo I’m not using SimAppPro (I set it up once and now it’s “disabled”), working in Windows Game Controllers, in-game BMS, DCS, everywhere it’s just not working in the alt launcher.
