RE: No runway lights using stand alone server.
Hi guys, sorry for necroposting this a bit, but Iām also searching for a workaround for runway lights not working at night in campaign when using a dedicated server.
I tried to follow the suggestion @VIPER-0 gave of placing the server with 3D rendering enabled in cabin at night, but no luck and all the airport remains extremely dark.
@VIPER-0 would you mind to detail what you do on the server step by step?
I see you posted some here, but itās not clear to me if when you say āwe create the package 20 minutes before takeoffā you mean the server flight or your own and also if you create it everytime or only once.
And when you say " the time of the campaign has to be at night" you mean that the campaign clock itself must be advanced until itās night time or is it enough to set the departure time for the server flight at night (say, at 22:30 LT)?
Moreover, do you use this trick only on KTO or also on other theaters?
Asking because I tried on Balkans, I donāt think this is the issue because lighting should be part of the BMS core (so the behaviour should be consistent in all theaters), but it might be useful to further understand under what circumstances the bug happens.
Thanks in advance, hope for your reply soon! -

RE: News from the frontline, 4.37.3 delayed (and explained)
Guys, only thing we all BMS players can do is continuously and always say a really BIG THANK YOU!!! for all your hard and marvelous work!
Weāll wait and, as usual, it will be worth it!!!

RE: Weapon Delivery Planner released
Hello, I noticed that in the HARM tab of the DTC thereās a system name reported as -1.
The code is 608, given that the symbol showing in the RWR is listed as 8 I guess it should be SA8 instead.
Not sure if itās a WDP issue or if it comes from some BMS database.EDIT: I double checked and, in fact, SA8 is in the listā¦ but if I try to select it, code is listed as 0 and symbol as -1.
Also other systems show the same behaviour (e.g. SA9, SA13, SA19, PATRIOT, NIKE and probably more). -
RE: BUG: Cannot hide pilot model by default
Gosh, completely forgot it was also in the launcherā¦ thanks guys, sorry for bothering!

BUG: Cannot hide pilot model by default
Version
4.37.2 (x64)Build
521Detailed Description
It seems that the pilot model cannot be deactivated by default: if I go into the Setup -> Graphics and uncheck the relevant checkbox, next time I start BMS itās checked again and the pilot model is visible when I enter the 3D.
Disabling/enabling it with Alt-c + p from the cockpit works, itās just the checkbox in the setup that doesnāt seem to be honored (and resets itself to being checked everytime you launch the game).Reproducibility Procedure
- Launch the game
- Go to Setup -> Graphics
- Uncheck the āPilot Modelā checkbox
- Exit the game
- Launch the game again
- Go to Setup -> Graphics and the checkbox is selected again
Expected Behavior
The āPilot Modelā checkbox should stay unselected if it has been disabled by the user

RE: BUG(?): "Duplicate" Setup.v100.MouseWheel.xml and "wrong" file name
@airtex2019 To be honest, I donāt knowā¦ but I guess thereās a valid reason for it to be there.

BUG(?): "Duplicate" Setup.v100.MouseWheel.xml and "wrong" file name
Version
4.37.2 (x64)Build
521Detailed Description
I donāt even know if it can be considered a bug, but I just realized that in my User\Config I have two Setup.v100.MouseWheel.xml files.
Looking at creation/modification dates it seems to be like this since a while, so maybe it begun in previous versions.
The only difference is that the second one has a space between the second dot and the āMouseWheelā component of the nameā¦ and it seems to be intended, because if I try to move both to the Windows Recycle Bin and subsequently launch the game, it gets recreated with this space.
But the other XML peripherals config files all have no spaces between the name components, so I think itās a typo in the code or something like that.
I didnāt have the opportunity to test if it has some impact or creates issues in game, can do specific tests if needed.Reproducibility Procedure
- Check if you have two Setup.v100.MouseWheel.xml files in your User\Config dir (if you have only one, check if it has a space after the second dot in the file name)
- Move the file(s) to the Windows Recycle Bin
- Launch the game and immediately exit
- Check that Setup.v100. MouseWheel.xml - with a space after the second dot in the file name, as I wrote it here - has been recreated
Expected Behavior
You should have only one Setup.v100.MouseWheel.xml file in your User\Config dir, with no spaces in the file name.

RE: Realism Patch
If you can do something in reality, but not in BMS, then reality isnāt realistic. Expect next version of reality in 3-4 weeks.
ROTFL, you won it all m8!!!

RE: Monitor Refresh rateā¦how important to flight simming?
how do you activate āadaptive syncā on a Titan Nvidia GC?
Hi, it should be an option in your NVIDIA Control Panel.
-
RE: Monitor Refresh rateā¦how important to flight simming?
Hi Mower, flight simming does not involve frenetic action, so 60 Hz is for sure enough.
The real thing, as Shadow indirectly said, is ensuring you can achieve a constant frame rate and have the lowest possible input lag: thatās why adaptive sync technology - be it Freesync or G-Sync - makes a big difference, especially for non perfectly balanced builds that have some bottlenecks.
So, donāt let datasheets with āamazing 1ms response timeā fool you (response time tells absolutely nothing about monitor capabilities) and aim for panel quality, low input lag and support for adaptive sync. -
RE: Nvidia gtx 1060
Hello boysā¦.help my for driver for gtx1060ā¦what driver for this card is great?
Hi, unless you have good reasons to do otherwise, you should always prefer the latest released version.
At the moment 388.71 is out, get it here. -
RE: Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X
@abfagin:
Iām trying to use GrEaSeLiTeNiNās keyfile to retain POV panning on the hat switch, since I donāt have TrackIR either.
However, Iām running into issues where when I launch a flight, all the buttons and POV hat are unshifted, but just clicking (rather than even holding) the pinky switch for DX shift just once will permanently force the DX shift.
Even if I hit or hold the pinky switch again, to try and deactivate the DX shift, the buttons on the throttle and stick still perform the shifted function.Any ideas why this may be happening?
Hi mate, check the āMapping the Shift Buttonā in the DirectX Shifting Facility article here on the site: it sounds exactly like you are missing the needed second definition of the shifting callback in the shifted layer (see the note at the end of the paragraph).
Also, check Kolbeās excellent keyfile documentation, youāll find it into x:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Key Files & Input\BMS Key File Manual.pdf.
I absolutely recommend it, it will shed way more light on how the whole keyfile thing works. -
RE: Nvidia gtx 1060
This isnāt strictly related with the thread, but also keep in mind that if you want to use a profile from NVIDIA Control Panel the settings will not work if you run BMS in windowed mode (only in game settings will have effect).
OTOH the Alt+Tab crashy behaviour is well known, so itās up to you to decide what you need the most. -
RE: Tobii Eye Tracking
Anyone have any experience of Tobii eye tracking, or used it with BMS falcon?
BMS is not in the supported games list, so I wouldnāt count on it working.
Anyway, it works with all other simulators I play - DCS, Arma and Elite: Dangerous - so I am planning to get one for Christmasā¦ if no one reports earlier, Iāll do for sure. -
RE: Fps
I advise using MSI Afterburner overlay, more accurate and gives you other very useful data (CPU and GPU temperature, clock and usage percentage, RAM usage etc.)

RE: Target Bug Solution
Thanks, I will try and report
OK, I tried and can confirm that an hard reboot solves the matter. :woohoo:
I think we can finally consider the problem solved, just start TARGET before everything else if you plan to use it. -
RE: Separation of user and configuration files
To be 100% honest, you can already achieve the separation using directory symlinks: just put your config folder elsewhere - e.g. into āSaved Gamesā - and replace the one inside BMS installation with a corresponding symlinkā¦ itās completely transparent to the software, so no worries and headaches.
