RE: BMS 4.33.1 F/A-18C Hornet Cockpit Issue
[RESOLVED]
1. After further testing, the CCIP is functional, unlike the F-16 where the pipper is usually visible, you have to really be at 450-500 kts plus and close to the ground for it to appear in the Hornet even with the 4.33.1 patch.
Just wasn’t being aggressive enough with the Hornet.2. Steam gauges are usually off, however, have appeared for me at least in the Hornet D model.
Thanks for the assistance Agave_Blue.

BMS 4.33.1 F/A-18C Hornet Cockpit Issue
Hey BMS Team,
I somehow managed to reset my BMS 4.33.1 F/A-18 Hornet cockpit to the 4.33 version.
I have no idea how this occurred…I was using Weapon Delivery Planner, made some changes, reverted some settings to default and
now I effectively have the 4.33 pit.1. CCIP no longer works and has reverted to its 4.33 “no view of the pipper” state
2. Steam gauges no longer visible without the use of console lighting like in 4.33 (although sometimes they appear on certain flights)Ive tried changing profiles to default Viper, disabling various files in the USER folder etc. adjusting ews_def.ini and mfd_def.ini files etc.
Its a mystery, it seems like the entire pit has been rolled back… does anyone have any suggestions on how to restore the cockpit?
Im testing and I spawn in the air. Could this be related to the non-ramp start issues?Burner

RE: 4.33u1 Issues (Known or not)
Will 4.33 TEs and campaign be able to import into 4.33.1 without issues??? We have a current Naval Campaign and a ton of training missions and Im curious if they are compatible.

RE: Aerial refueling possible in the Bug?
I tried hitting the basket in a trainer not long ago and was very surprised how well I did at it for a first time (so was my back seater)…even though the frame rates were screwed and had the tanker (a KC-135 with a basket, BTW…) jumping all over the sky on me every time I was near to plugged. Just based on that I think hitting the basket is WAY easier than my feeble attempts at the boom in BMS.
Interesting thanks for sharing this, we had a former real life Hornet driver in my old virtual squadron that said it was 10 times easier to refuel in the real hornet because of seat of your pants flying, detecting small changes in altitude and airspeed, and especially vastly superior depth perception between real life and just a monitor. On the Canadian show Slipstream, most of the new F/A-18 pilots hit the basket on their first try.

Sting, truly excellent demonstration of Air to Air Refueling in the BMS Hornet!!!

RE: Change TACAN station in the hornet
…I really…really wish there was a decent systems model for the Hornet…this hurts my head.
Stevie,
I understand you flew the Hornet trainer so your standard is at the realistic training standard……however, this is what we have now and I just appreciate what the Devs have done thus far.
The devs have said, although the avionics are viper based, the Hornet AFM is actually a decent high fidelity.
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?24829-F-A-18-Hornet-Flight-Model&p=352715&viewfull=1#post352715So, its either Janes F/A-18 Superhornet, BMS 4.33 Hornet, Seven-G, (which has amazing proper avionics) http://seveng-f18.com/ https://www.youtube.com/user/sevengf18/videos,
the FSX VRS Superbug, or you can wait 3 years for the DCS Hornet!!! Maybe. My opinion is that overall, taking the entire combat environment into consideration (even when the DCS Hornet is released as a competitor),
the graphics, and fidelity, MP net code……BMS 4.33 has the best overall modern/realistic Hornet combat experience currently available.
However, I understand and share your frustration that a high fidelity fully modeled Hornet model hasn’t been released just yet.
