Hi Ron,
as I promised, jet AB and Speedbrake shudders effects are re-designed and under beta testing now.
Thanks Andre for addressing this.

I think the sounds I was hearing are as you mentioned in your second paragraph. I may just be hearing vibrator noises that are endemic to the JetSeat. The curious part is that it only comes from one of the eight vibrators in the seat. I have changed the chair I put the JetSeat on and it seems to have helped. I suspect it is important the type and material the chair one uses with the JetSeat to get the right effects.
Andre,
I notice it when the effects kick in for the afterburner, as well as deploying the speed breaks. Once I drop the speed below any stage of afterburner, of course the effects diminish as well as the beeping noise. At first I thought it was a sensor in the A/C such as RWR, as BMS has done some amazing work providing us with as realistic a sim as possible, so initially I thought the sound was from the plane itself. But turning off the SimShaker via the control switch makes it stop so I know it’s in that aspect of the JetSeat. Not a deal breaker, but I haven’t noticed such a noise when using the JetSeat with other flight sims ie. DCSW.
Andre,
I just tried my JetSeat with BMS 4.33. I get pretty much all the effects as listed, however, I get a noticeable noise from either one or more of the motors in the seat. It’s a constant “beeping” sound. I know I’ve read of others with the noise issue, but it is more prevalent for me in BMS as opposed to other sims. If you’re looking for feedback, there you go. I appreciate it may be a hardware problem as opposed to anything in the software you provide, but I thought I’d throw it out there for you. Any ideas?
:uham:Arty aka Farty, you crack me up. Gotta take a moment to thank you for your contributions and simplifying BMS for us “old farts”.:bowd:
What better time to hone one’s F-16 skills than when there is 4 feet of snow on the ground outside. I simply LOVE being retired!
One can only estimate the costs to putting together a dynamic campaign in today’s world. When Microprose did it everything was less expensive and in reality I don’t think any of us really appreciated what we were purchasing back in the day as regards Falcon4. Now we are spoiled to the point that we tend to besmirch any flight sim effort that has to rely on “treed static campaigns” Once you’ve experienced F4 especially with all the improvements we’ve been blessed with over the years, it’s seems that good old Falcon 4 has set the bar really high. I sense that BMS will keep the bar waaay up there.
Ah the memories. And the contributions of Pete Bonani. Somehow it made everything even better knowing that a real Viper pilot was overseeing some of the tech stuff. My binder edition and maps are all still pristine and I hope to keep them that way. It’s like having been around when Atari was state of the art.
I’ve been with this “sim” since Microprose put it on the market and with every iteration since. I read these sorts of threads and cannot think of a better analogy for comparison than the US Constitution and F-4. Both were a stroke of genius that even with all their supposed flaws, have “staying power” and are unique in their respect fields. We may sense that both are no longer pertinent to “modern times” and desire to bring them into the 21st Century, but a very stern caution is advised. You start making significant changes to either, and you negatively impact the core value. It’s okay to make minor “tweaks” and that has been done in both instances, but I think we should all appreciate the “product” for what it brings to the table and not continue to compare it to similar undertakings or want it “modernized” to reflect current trends. BMS folks are to be commended as they have a sense of the “inherent strength” of this sim and are dedicated to staying loyal to the original and not being coerced into chasing some utopian concept that is in reality impossible to achieve.
Darkman,
I had the same issue. it is a corrupted Microsoft .Net Framework. Click on that in your “Add/Remove Programs” and it should give you the option to “Repair file” I did that and it fixed my problem. Everything works fine now.
