Well, The longer, edgy inlets of the F-18 E/F should contribute to a much closer range at which NCTR is possible. The radar can’t look as easy for the fan blades, on which NCTR is based. The angle at which it would work should also be a bit smaller.

My guess always was a Lighting sensor for Auto brightness of HUD and/or cockpit illumination.
IR-light-emitter for cockpit illumination would not make sense, because it is facing the pilots NVGs. It would just blind the pilot, not illuminate any of the switches down there.

You are propably talking of the magnetic cueing device that CCIP f-16s have? I’m not exactly sure if we mean the same thing, but if yes, that thing is used for the HMCS as far as i know.

Who cares? It’s still one of the best places in the world to be. And 30°C is just too hot, isn’t it?
I’m getting all warmed up beyond something like 35°C.
But until new years eve it’s all fine, after this i’m only waiting for summer again.

There wasn’t even summer in germany. OK, to be honest spring started in february but still i cant go to the swimming pool in february.
