@I-Hawk I fly BMS on a old Iphone 3 so it’s the best my bandwidth can muster.
Jokes aside, I’m just a forum noob and it was just to say thanks and how fantastic BMS looks these days.

I’ve been following BMS for a few years now and it just keeps getting better and better. Congratulations on an awesome job so far and keep up the great work.
Looks fantastic.
@JollyFE
I tried those commands earlier with the same results.
I loaded a new campaign, same theatre (Balkans), bug didn’t occur.
Went back to my original campaign and loaded ‘Fair’ weather map across the map, bug didn’t occur. Starting to think it’s weather condition dependant
The weather map prior looked amazing but I think it’s marginal for LGB use. There’s precious few ‘holes’ in cloud cover to sneak LGB’s through for moving targets but not impossible…I’m wondering if the weather settings is causing my wingmen to baulk entirely, if that’s a thing.
I have noticed previously they were diving to below 20k ft to drop, as if it were dumb ammunition…just some thoughts.
I’ve noticed this happening on both the F-16 and Hornet varients. I am flying the Balkans theatre if that has any impact at the moment, I’ll update if I notice it on KTO.
If I load my wingman with GBU-12 LGB’s even with a full load, I direct them to ATTACK MY TARGET, meanwhile I’ve gone off to attack another target to come around and find they’ve just overflown, still milling around without dropping any bombs. I get them to REJOIN and then ATTACK MY TARGET again and they call, UNABLE, WINCHESTER…and that’s it for them for that mission.
Doesn’t happen with JDAM’s, wingman is loaded out with TGP the same as I am…
Just wondering what conditions the wingman would call WINCHESTER and ignore the fact there’s 4x good LGB’s left.
Thanks for any assistance.
This looks great!
When installing ReShade, any options here?:
Sorry I couldn’t tell you which ones I used belong to which group. I just selected them all and picked out the ones which made an appreciable difference.
Really beautiful and more realistic screenshots. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Can you explain how the file you shared with us is used?
Of course, sorry I left that bit out.
ReShadePresets.ini sits in with your ‘Falcon BMS.exe’ eg. Falcon BMS4.3x\Bin\x64
You should already have one there if you’ve installed ReShade. Make a backup copy of your current settings to go back to and plonk mine in to try it out.
I’ve had some success with ReShade, here’s my ReShadePresent.ini:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MWSAiU3y2xri0p0otDWn4zrGt9Z4Aisx/view?usp=sharing
Just make sure you’ve downloaded the relevant shaders through the ReShade installer, you can re-download them I think if you run the installer again.
The effect is probably a bit softer, more vibrant, dynamic and cinematic HOWEVER…there seems to be some sort of shader interference when you’re using your ‘alt-v’ visor at high altitude, above the cirrus layer, as it tends to start to flicker between visor/no-visor. I haven’t figured out how to fix this yet as I’m not sure what’s causing it. Play around with it.
Here’s some screenshots so far, apart from some posterising with the vignette shader, I’m happy with the results so far:

Hope this helps.
Awesome! A bit of fresh powder in that cockpit I think but worth it for the meaty sounds. Thanks for the link!
Roger. Thank you!
Just please tell me if is not created from scratch … I can not afford to have something coming from another sim/game/software.
No worries. Samples were pulled directly from the youtube videos with permission from the owner. No sims were harmed in the making of these samples
@ DaleTheRubbish
Hi!
I didn’t had time to try them out, but … may we use / include them in stock install?
Yeah if it meets your criteria go for it! Tbh they’re super easy to edit, if I find better samples or whatever I’ll post any updates in this thread.
Good stuff. Really.
But … I would remove some kind distortion from sndabext.ogg / a bit too much for my taste … can be heard, some kind of flanger/phase/echo effect.
do you still have original ?
Understood, that is the original though, just cut an rearranged to loop, no effects were added. What you’re hearing is what is heard.
After a bit of toil…new sounds.
Make copies of overwritten files to go back to if it’s not to your liking.
-New F-16 Afterburner close range sound - ‘sndabext.ogg’ copy to Data>Sounds>Engines>Fighter>F-16
-New Mid/Long range ‘ambient’ fighter sound - ‘burner-md.ogg’ copy to Data>Sounds>Engines>Fighter
-New Sonic Boom - ‘sonicboom’ copy to Data>Sounds>Common
-Minor Changes to F4sndtbl - copy to Data>Sounds I have removed the Doppler effect for the ‘sndabext.ogg’ sound as it blends better with the Doppler effect applied to the medium range ‘burner-md’

Feedback welcomed.

That was some external sounds I modified for 4.33.
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?28330-New-F16-burner-sound
While the .ogg files will work by themselves, if you know where to put them - with the new f4sndtbl file, I think I’ve managed to create a subjectively better external sound experience with what’s in 4.34.
I have something new cooking and nearly ready, still subtly toying with the f4sndtbl file but will post once ready, sorry for the delay in response.
I put a newer version up, made some changes, made it downloadable via Soundcloud.
After listening to this in my car to test sound on other speakers, I actually have to agree. It is overpowering but didn’t sound that way on my not-so-bad headphones.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!
This was something that sparked my interest a few months back. Edit, now years.
I enjoyed putting it together for myself, If anyone is interested, you can download via soundcloud.
just changed the drum line and remastered it a little, Hope you enjoy it.
Just a different take I produced on the theme/menu music, hope you enjoy.

It’s subtle…I haven’t got any lightning screenshots yet, too quick.
Hi everyone,
Firstly, I’m sorry I don’t have any accompanying screenshots; this sounds lame but the print screen key isn’t screenshoting like normal and I can’t be assed right now as I’d rather be flying and just share what I’m using with you.
The new ‘vortice’ texture, trail0.dds, is used by a number of things in the sim, including the black smoke from bent jet, wingtip vortices and the leading edge strake/extension and contrails. In this sense I’ve ‘hollowed’ out the middle of the original image so it gives it a more vortex appearance in sim rather than nebulous puff. This file is also used by SAMs and other missile effects - unless you alter the particle.sys to ref a different texture it’s all or nothing. Install into \Data(addon theatre if you want)\Terrdata\misctex
lghtning.dds is exactly what you think; I’ve changed the colour and ‘width’ of the image to produce a finer stroke of lightning and more electric colour. Install into Terrdata(korea, balkans etc)\weather
As always, backup in case of #IHateThisShit
