RE: [BMS Tool] Afterburner Detent Sounds
@greatcouloir After some searching and testing I found the sound files responsible for Idle detent and AB detent and how to increase their volume. For Idle detent it is 1 file “PushButton.ogg” and for AB Detent sound there are 2 files , one for AB on “PushButton_In.ogg” and one for AB off “PushButton_Out.ogg”. In order to increase the volume edit the file “F4SndTbl.textproto” with a text editor. I increased the max_vol value from -208 to 10000 (I don’t think increasing it further makes any difference). Look at the pic below. Enjoy.
Just in case MAKE A BACKUP FIRST of the F4SndTbl.textproto file. -
RE: HARM POS Problems
@ka8yiu Got it! You seem to change the target radar type just before firing. You can see on your video that, on both accounts, a sec before firing the target radar type changes from 3T to 2T. As a result the missile is not RDY instantly on the new radar type, it takes 5 seconds.
Check to see if you accidentally press TMS RIGHT, just before firing, or if you have binded a control to TMS RIGHT. That cycles the target radar types. -
RE: Very strange Air-Ground Radar display
I experimented yesterday with the new AG radar on GM mode. The logic is sound and personally I find it a hell of a lot more realistic than a magic AG radar antenna that scans ahead of you and you can see the whole picture from the point of your nose up to 80nm. That never made sense to me being a newbie in BMS and compared to AA mode where you have to tilt the antenna to look for targets at various heights.

RE: VR testing and findings
@Dragasath warning to all! I STRONGLY recommend to leave the object detail slider to max (7). I did more testing today and it definitely has to do with distance, but not just on the level of detail, but on the object visibility itself. I tried the instant action and with OD =1 the enemy planes were not visible until well under 5nm. I could see their smoke trails but not the planes themselves. Then suddenly one by one they popped in front of me. I guess one could place the slider somewhere between 1 and 7 but I left it at 7.

RE: Chase view: headache guaranteed!
@LorikEolmin I stand corrected sir. You are correct with Track IR enabled on external view, “headache guaranteed”. @suhkoi69 your can disable this, as I have with "set g_bExternalTrackIROrientation 0 " on user config file. I had it disabled from 4.36.

@Radium Pretty sure he’s giving a compliment to kouzi and saying that his afterburner should be the default in BMS as it is better than the one we currently have.
that’s what I think, some times we get lost in translation

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
For those (especially non native English speakers, such as my self) that are having trouble getting their voice commands recognized by windows and consequentially by foxvox, I found the below on Reddit that works (at least in my case ) like a charm! Basically you teach windows speech recognition to understand the specific phrases you need, using your voice and pronunciation. The idea is to record all BMS comms on windows speech recognition so foxvox (or any other similar app) would pick it up. Haven’t tried it yet on all comms just on a few commands for testing, but it seems to work nice. Hope it helps.https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/4jeety/new_voice_attack_info/d36ai9g
@foxster your app is amazing by the way! I have neither the time not the PC for running BMS lately, so I am exploring other stuff around the sim. I haven’t used your app since the first days, and it was like a whole new beast! Bravo!
Edit: Sorry but, for whatever reason MS decided to , at least for now, remove Speech Dictionary from the latest Windows 11, and they replaced Windows Speech Recognition with Voice Access. So no joy on the above tip! I did my initial try outs on my brother older windows 10 laptop. Never thought that they would remove the feature on W11.

RE: BMSNav - Kneeboards and Briefings for iOS and Android
@danaos75 said in BMSNav - Kneeboards and Briefings for iOS and Android:
Hi @terminus , thank you for a great app. It works beautifully on my Samsung Android tablet.
I have a request if possible. Do you think is doable to retain the info loaded on all tabs even if you close the app and the server app? So they will be available again next time I restart the tablet or the app without a new connection with the server app.Sometimes I load all the data and then I wish to study it before mission on my couch. Right now I load everything, shut down the pc and as long as the app on the tablet is open, I can read the data, but not if I close the app by mistake or shut down the tablet.
@terminus any thoughts on that?

RE: Sound Issues
@datajack check if there is any kind of spatial sound enabled for your output device in windows audio settings and disable it. See if that helps.

RE: A/A TACAN Question
@efsixteenblock50 why do you require a calculator? A/A tacan tied aircraft are always 63 channels apart. On the example above if you are the lead n that scenario, you would be tied to the element lead and him to you because your tacan channels are 63 channels apart. If you change your tacan to 85Y then both you and #4 would be tied to #2 . But if #2 is human and not AI, he would see the distance to the closest aircraft of either lead or #4.
Changing your tacan to 85Y should work.
