And if you’re going to ALT + TAB often you would be better off using windowed mode. See BMS-Manual page 20 for how to do this.

RE: F-16's skin can't be changed.
We need more information.
Had the flight already taken off? Text in top right corner of LOADOUT window will indicate IN FLIGHT if this is the case. Any changes you try to make in the LOADOUT screen are ignored if the aircraft is already airborne.
If that is not the issue, then you need to tell/show us what steps you are taking to try to change the skin.

RE: Help with setting up comms
@Red:
Aaah !!
It seems to be browser related.
I am still on a very old internet explorer, and attachment work fine.
I just switched to edge and I can’t see the attachement anymore, it reports invalid attachment
Same if I try with Chrome, can’t see the attachment as it’s reported invalid.I guess we have the explanation of the attachment issue nagging this forum. I’ll report it as it seems different from the past attachment issue we had in the past.
Yet I think we have some forum maintenance planned in the short future, so …Firefox here and I can’t see it either.
Finally after all these years we’ve found something that works best in Internet Explorer

RE: Is it worth to update to 4.34.1?
I don’t seem to have a Falcon setup folder. I believe the full installer didn’t use one? I could be wrong, so how would I go about installing the incremental update?
You could try looking at the BMS-Manual (in your Docs folder). Chapter 3 (page 12) Installation will walk you through installing and updating BMS.

Please keep seeding Falcon_BMS_4.34_U1_Incremental after you have got it
Once you have 4.34 Update 1 please keep seeding (sharing) so others can leech (download) it as quickly as possible. Demand for 4.34 U1 will probably remain high throughout the weekend and over the holiday season.
If you are new to torrents, just leave your torrent client running when you can and it will continue to seed 4.34 U1 in the background.
Support the community, keep seeding please!
p.s. don’t forget to read up on the changes. Changelog (from the Falcon-BMS-4-34-U1-Incremental-Installer thread):
Generic Information & Known issues: =================================== — The build number string in the Falcon UI will read "4.34.1 (x64) Build 20741" after the update. — The shortcuts in the start menu and on your desktop will NOT be renamed to U1, they will still read "Falcon BMS 4.34" after the update, feel free to rename them manually. — The following change log is by no means complete. Its purpose is to give you a quick overview about the highlights. You can expect tons of smaller tweaks and fixes. — If you have any questions or found bugs regarding the change log items please always! reference the revision number, e.g. "(r12345)". — Note: None of the manuals have been updated yet. (r20622) — Divert all flights in air when their Squadron is dead (captured), Divert them to the nearest friendly airbase. (r20620) — Make sure to remove the squadron only when all flights have landed or being killed. (r20620) — Fixed AC being removed from the queue too early in case of rolling take off. (r20587) — Fixed AI requesting approach while they should stay on leader's wing. (r19841) — Include full Logic in the ATC menu. It is now impossible to contact an ATC agency with a bad message. (r19848) — ATC Overhaul on ground: (r19861) * Support for runway crossing. * AI are now aware of what is in front of them during taxi off to ramp to avoid collisions. * Fixed timing for AI despawn. * Make sure that all AC of AI flights are spawning in the same branch. * Use of parking point groups for spawning. Book QRA / Intercept parkingPT with group -1. — Various ATC fixes and improvements: (r19862 &r20575) * Frag ID of Ground, Tower, Approach are no more read from the eval.xml but from the Stations+ils.dat. * No need to call "on final" when overhead anymore, flight is cleared automatically when reaching final position. * Fix for radio comms: "contact departure" replaced by "contact approach" when relevant. * Implemented FAROS (Final Approach Runway Occupancy Signal). * When reporting "on final" before "request landing" during a free approach Tower will no more answer "contact approach" but will act like if you had requested "request landing" correctly. * Reworked the take off flow. "Contact Departure" is now no more part of take off clearance, but is sent by the ATC after leader's take off. As a consequence you are requested to stay on Tower frequency during take off. * Rework departure comms: "Resume own navigation" will always be sent after "departure heading" in order to confirm that the communication is over. * Removed last digit frag of radio frequencies when the last digit is zero. * ATC is able to announce the different taxi branches letter for taxi instructions. * Improved "Giveway" calls. * Fix for critical messages being considered as duplicate. * Fixed duplicate "contact departure" messages. * Fix for overhead break in case it is done too early. * Fixed ATC calling at each branch node when taxi off. * Fixed wrong calls when requesting taxiOff and crossing runway. * Fixed ATC not giving clearance to go on final despite being on the ILS glide (and missed the last turning point which can happen in radar approach with wind). * Make sure that AI can line up correctly even if leader chooses the wrong side of the runway. — Pure data fixes and improvements: (r10967, r10988, r10989, r10993, r11263, r11541, r11549) * Updated menu.dat for ATC logic inclusion. * Prioritize urgent messages (emergency, some AWACS calls ...). * ATC agencies names are now defined in Station+ils+dat. * Adding Taxiway lettering for ATC directions to all airbases. * Adding Choongwon ATC announcements (previously used Chengdu) soundbites and correcting Male Runway 36 Right (previously said ‘click’). (r20728) — Fixed in TAS (vt) calculation that must take wind and burst into account. (r20726) — AGM88 in POS should go to last known radar position instead of initial waypoint. (r20591) — Allow a nonlinear distribution of the deviation / PK estimation when AGM88 target is lost and missile going inertial. (r20591) — Fixed Wind wrongly applied to the model. Steady wind does not impact the AOA and BETA anymore in turn, only bursts and turbulence will. (r20570) — Carrier fixes: (r20568) * Fixed bad spawning on carriers. * Smooth FM on carriers. * Fixed AI unable to align with catapult. * Limit the number of aircraft and helos spawning on the deck. * Special code to clean up the deck in case AI are stuck. * Fixed incorrect carrier trajectories. * Improve static detection on carrier. * Fixed wheels not rotating on remote entities on carrier. — Fixed a bug in ROLL ATT that should be active even in pitch ALT HOLD. (r20191) — In case of single hydraulic failure (SYS B), continuous use of the toe brakes, even with the parking brake set, depletes brake/JFS accumulator fluid and causes loss of all braking capability after approximately 75 seconds. If hydraulic pressure remains when holding the aircraft stationary, use of the parking brake is preferred because brake/JFS accumulator fluid is not depleted then. (r20190) — Fixed Brake rumbling sound not being played when analog braking was used with AFM (r20190) — Fixed flares not dispensing properly when chaff in the program. (r20188) — Improved SAM — FCR tactic in case the target is going cold. (r20002) — Fixed Lag during heavy flare use. (r20000) — Fixed Oil fault and HUD warn flashing for the AV8 Harrier. (r19982) — An improved way to have the player radio menu code decide if AWACS is available or not. (r19977) Note: Essentially this uses separate logic from that used by the AI now -- the UHF frequency for the player is the dominant factor in searching for the AWACS. As a side effect, if the player does dial in the correct flight frequency for an AWACS jet and one was not assigned to the player's flight then this value is stashed in the player package so that they and other AI in the package have support from other parts of the code that use this assignment. — Fix for large theater campMap (occupation map) reading and writing (r19919) — DTC waypoints now have the correctly set elevation as set in the UI. (r19875) — Fixed AWACS calls to friendly units when Coalition (r19872) — Fix for AI being omnipotent to eyeball IRST missiles. Visual detection now depends on: (r19864) * Missile Engine light * Missile engine smoke trail * Missile contrail * Light Environment (night /Day) * AI eye scanning time is skill dependent and dependent on nature of engagement (WVR / BVR / OTHERS) * AI flare management upgrade, no skill dependent — Fixed also a few bugs in the Visual signature of aircraft. RE: Ist Time Installer(Help)
Just 4.34 full installer, and 4.34 U1 incremental installer, also is U7 included in this batch??
Update 1 is the only update for 4.34. Don’t download any other updates as they will not be for 4.34.
If you are new to BMS you can read the installation chapter in the BMS Manual, which will take you through the process screen by screen. It can be downloaded here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?35494-4-34-BMS-Documention-release&p=493552&viewfull=1#post493552
You should also familiarise yourself with the structure of the Documentation suite to understand what is where (and save yourself a lot of time and frustration trying to find stuff). This can be found here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?35494-4-34-BMS-Documention-release
All documents will be in your Docs folder when you have installed 4.34, so there is no need to download any other manual.

RE: What happened to the autopilot settings in Falcon BMS 4.34
Yes. Technical Manual page 164. Be warned this is only useful for testing/debugging as combatAP will not work properly with new code for ATC, AAR, etc., which is why it was moved to the dev stuff config section.

RE: Confused about finding key bindings.
I have now upgraded to BMS 4.34 from BMS 4.32.
I noticed that the new key bindings are probably different in some areas then what my setup is….Most of the changes were made for 4.33, with accompanying documentation showing what had changed. 4.34 just added a few callbacks to support the new features.
You haven’t specified which HOTAS you are using, so I’ll just point out that there are a number of HOTAS setups ready to use in your \Falcon BMS 4.34\Docs\01 Input Devices\03 HOTAS Setup folder. If you wanted to get flying and work out how you wanted to customise your setup later that could be an option.
Key files are explained in Chapter 10 of the Technical Manual if you want to understand the current format, or you could just use the BMS Key File Editor to create a custom key file for you. This can be found in the \Falcon BMS 4.34\Docs\01 Input Devices\02 Key File Editor folder, with a manual explaining how to get the most out of it.

RE: Wrong tanker in briefing
Known issue, not fixed yet. You should have the correct UHF Preset for the closest tanker, just the steerpoint is wrong.
Place a PPT if you want a steerpoint at the correct location and contact the Tanker as usual. AWACS will always direct you to the closest tanker too.

RE: Engaging multiple targets with aim-120 simultaneously
Think , that even you’re in (RWS)-DT , when one of the bugged targets enters <10nm , radar will break the lock of the 2nd target and GO STT (auto) with the closer target , same as with only one target bugged. It will drop second track.
You don’t need to think, or guess, it’s all in the FCR chapter I referenced above. Isn’t it better to send people to the correct information?
In this case see 1.4.4.9.5 SAM Track page 69.
And for the real manual stalwarts the chapter even explains where the current modelling is lacking some of the features of the real AN/APG-68**(V)5** FCR. Hint: the current A-A FCR is much more complete than the A-G FCR

RE: Engaging multiple targets with aim-120 simultaneously
Y’all do know that the BMS -34 finally got a dedicated FCR chapter for the 4.34 release?
I see a lot of questions being posted which do make me wonder

RE: Vipergear ICP and axis
I’m not sure you understood the options explained in that manual.
You need to put set g_nKnobAccelerationDelta 0 if you want to turn off acceleration.
Then use the By1 callback versions of SimHsiCourseInc and SimHsiCourseDec (i.e.: SimHsiCrsIncBy1 and SimHsiCrsDecBy1). Do the same for SimHsiHeading.
See BMS Keystrokes - Defaults.pdf page 9 in your \Falcon BMS 4.34\Docs\01 Input Devices folder.
By default you will get By1 increments if you turn the dial slowly and By5 when you turn the dial faster. Have you tried just turning the dial more slowly when you get near the number you want to set?

RE: Vipergear ICP and axis
See BMS-Technical-Manual page 162: section titled g_nKnobAccelerationDelta

RE: Trying to Understand Weather use in Campaign
Which manual?
BMS-TECHNICAL-MANUAL page 51-53 explains step by step how to create weather maps using Ahmed’s excellent F4Wx and then how to use them in BMS to automatically change with time.

RE: Falcon BMS 4.34 Not Launching (No d9xdisplay/Logs Generated)
Force feedback joystick drivers have been known to cause CTDs. If you can just remove the force feedback dll as you suggest that would be a good place to start.

RE: Radio messages - (COM1 "t" ect.) - white dialog text overlapping in blue dialog list.
The easy option is to reduce the size of the text if you’re using a higher than 100% text size in Windows because of the large and distant screen.
Just open up the Configuration tool from the Launcher to the section shown below and choose 125% or 150% (whichever you’re using) and then click on Apply Changes.
The other option is to change the size and/or position of the menu box in menu.dat (located in your \Falcon BMS 4.34\Data\Art\CkptArt folder. Make a backup of it before you start to change anything just in case.
The section at the top is what you’re interested in. Pick your resolution and make any changes you need.
// Menu Box : Screen width (x), screen height (y), window top (y), window left (x), window bottom (y), window right (x) // Note 1: The default radiomenu font in otwfonts.dat assumes a box width of 310, height 250 (certified from 100% up to 150% max Windows10 scale font size -> DPI ). With top edge margin of 130 pixels and a right edge margin of 10 pixel. // Note 2: The list HAS to be sorted by screen HEIGHT 1st, then WIDTH 2nd! // Note 3: Specifically for large ("4K" screens), if you want to move the window closer to the center of the screen, adjust the "window left (x)" and "window right (x)" as desired (by the same amount of pixels for both values). // Note 4: If you want to add a resolution, increase the last number in the "menumanager" line to match the number of resolution lines. #resolution 640 480 130 320 380 630 #resolution 800 600 130 480 380 790 #resolution 1280 600 130 960 380 1270 #resolution 1024 640 130 704 380 1014 #resolution 1280 720 130 960 380 1270 #resolution 1024 768 130 704 380 1014 #resolution 1280 768 130 960 380 1270 #resolution 1360 768 130 1040 380 1350 #resolution 1366 768 130 1046 380 1356 #resolution 1280 800 130 960 380 1270 #resolution 1152 864 130 832 380 1142 #resolution 1440 900 130 1120 380 1430 #resolution 1600 900 130 1280 380 1590 #resolution 1280 960 130 960 380 1270 #resolution 1768 992 130 1448 380 1758 #resolution 1280 1024 130 960 380 1270 #resolution 1600 1024 130 1280 380 1590 #resolution 1680 1050 130 1360 380 1670 #resolution 1920 1080 130 1600 380 1910 #resolution 2560 1080 130 2240 380 2550 #resolution 1600 1200 130 1280 380 1590 #resolution 1920 1200 130 1600 380 1910 #resolution 5760 1200 130 5440 380 5750 #resolution 2560 1440 130 2240 380 2550 #resolution 3440 1440 130 3120 380 3430 #resolution 3840 2160 130 3520 380 3830 #resolution 4096 2160 130 3776 380 4086 #resolution 11520 2160 130 11200 380 11510 #resolution 4096 2304 130 3776 380 4086
