@Snake122 Ah man that’s a shame - presumably there’s no way to take the movement from Point CTRL and simulate that movement using the Windows API, as if the mouse has been moved?

RE: Does Point CTRL work well with BMS?
Has there been any movement on full Point CTRL support? Should be getting mine soon and would love to use it in BMS!

RE: What's the best VR for BMS ? Pico 4? Or Meta Quest 2?
@Snake122 hmm strange, no, I don’t notice anything like that

@Flow32 @delenda what’s your experience of the night haze caused by the pancake lenses? @delenda interesting over the G2 and 8k X, since I have /both that makes me very interested that the clarity is best from the Pico4…
What’s the night haze? Haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Very interesting. Can you give me your pc specs, especially the graphic card you are using? Do you have any performance issues?4090
7950x3d with BMS forced to VCache CCD
64GB DDR5Nope, no perf issues when streaming over wifi.

Pico4 would be a very good choice in my opinion.
OK FOV, awesome stereo overlap, pancake lenses with good clarity. For the price you can’t go wrong.
If you can stretch the budget, quest pro.
If you can stretch it even more, pimax crystal
If you’re the ultimate baller, Varjo XR3 Focal editionAgeed, I haven’t touched my G2 or 8KX since I got the Pico. 8KX might be better FOV but the faff of the software and lighthouses means it’s stayed in the box. Pico + Virtual Desktop is great.

RE: VR vs TrackIR
@b0bl00i said in VR vs TrackIR:
I used vr quite a bit and also used trackir since it came out.
It’s a hazzle taking it on and off fumbling around looking for buttons etc. Also, forget alt tab to windows for changing songs in Spotify or doing something else like taking notes
Hopefully VR controller support will arrive soon which should make startup & cockpit interaction a bit easier.
You can use SteamVR’s desktop feature and assign spotify its own window, so if you absolutely have to change a song mid-flight, it’d shouldn’t be too difficult to open the spotify desktop window in vr, change song and close the desktop.
Taking (and referring to) notes is a pain but I think mostly alleviated with OpenKneeboard and a tablet. My handwriting is now my biggest issue with notes

RE: VR: best settings for visuals, spotting and performance on low spec hardware (1080 Ti and 10600K)
@Atlas Pico 4 - recently swapped from a G2.
Upgraded a few parts since too, so I need to see how far I can push some settings. I’ll try and get a block of free time to do some real testing.

@Atlas yeah, that’s what I normally do too if I’m following SOP. Otherwise, boomer gets bombarded with a bit of energy. I forgot to check when it appeared last night when refueling - I’ll jump on in a bit and check.
@Flow32 Yeah, certainly does pop in late

@Atlas I’ll check too. I’m using
object detail 1, 1.4 VRResolution
and need to keep the tanker locked until I’m very close. Will confirm tonight and add here -
RE: X52 im in deep sh*t
@GhostDog-0 rotate joystick 90 degrees
Seriously though, I’d try recalibrating in Windows and confirming the axis there and then doing the same in BMS. Could try a wipe of config dir too maybe

RE: VR Companion Does Not Mirror HMD View
@Kaiza-0 I do wonder if it’s a G2 only problem. Might be worth crossposting to that subforum too
-
RE: VR Companion Does Not Mirror HMD View
@Kaiza-0 Did you ever fix this? “set g_nVRRepeaterMode 2” doesn’t seem to fix it.

RE: OpenKneeboard Tutorial and Tips
@Kiwispirits thanks for the tip. I only use it in VR though, so I’m all good.

RE: VR Settings check please!
@Atlas said in VR Settings check please!:
I’ve also noticed that unlike in TrackIR where forward/backward head movement brings me closer/further to the ICP, this does not have the same effect in VR and I’m always a set distance from the ICP, so although there is 1:1 in terms of head roll/pitch/left/right, the yaw for forward/backward or towards the left/right doesn’t seem to work.
This is weird - works fine for me with my G2. I can move forward to see the nose etc. I’m also running at 60Hz with no issues in SteamVR House.
Are you using SteamVR beta and WMR for Steam beta?

I’m surprised you can’t read the knee boards though - I’m only on a rift s and have no issues at all.
Wonder if it’s a G2 thing - text is unreadable for me too on default KBs

RE: OpenKneeboard Tutorial and Tips
@rubbra Yep same - I also added it to games settings like so
