Hi Red Dog. I seem to be having a problem with my simulation abilities due to my “Reality” It would seem I need to “Learn how to Learn”. For instance, I was reading the Technical Manual-chapter 10, after I read the part in chapter 2.4 Page 20, regarding Creating my own Direct X. How newer folks will do this, but the fun starts when you start to program double layer button programming.
Well… within the sim itself, where I can complete the regular basic programming to start, I seem to have a problem understanding what a load of listed items even are here. This has really been my problem from Falcon 4.0’s birth and I am probably not the only one.
1. It seems to me, maybe not others as maybe I’m a bit slow… but it just seems to me that there needs to me something like a way to be able to take each line in the categories and understand what they are all to start. I’m starting to get a load of it, but I really do not understand what many of the choices even are. So it seems to me that the first problem is learning what it even is before I know where to put it or leave it alone for a key board stroke or HOTAS.
Then in Chapter 10, which I’m not ready for as we can see, I’m having a hard time understanding what the heck I’m reading for the dual key layer path programming of some sort. I was wondering if there is, or could be a video that would demonstrate how we dual program or can you recommend a way to be able to take the given categories in the advanced programming and have reference to what all those key stroke paths all are? Can we achieve this with our current Doc’s? Or does there need to be a Document pdf that is like a language definitions that has each line and defines that menu choice to break it down so some of us like myself can touch it. I’m getting more of it down. I realize it takes time and work and effort, much like a real flight school in a academic sense. And that’s a good thing.
I think I’ve had this problem ever since the original 3 ring binder was released in stores with the Microprose cd disk. I see a lot of guys who share their HOTAS profile, but that doesn’t really do ME any good if I don’t know what over half of it even is. This is something I must achieve on my own here. I think there’s only really one HOTAS set up and that’s the actual original F16 Cougar profile if you have that TM system. Like most of us, I have a warthog so I have to make it work. This BMS 4.34 is by far the best shape this sim’s ever been at in my opinion even considering all my ignorance. One thing I do well though is fly! I’m pretty cool at BFM. But I need work on the tools and radar modes and I need to understand and take it one piece at a time too. But some of this stuff, even when I read and take it one piece at a time, gets me sort of railroaded as I start to have something and I don’t know what it even it to start let alone duel key layer it.
I keep all the doc’s on my tablet. I’ll keep working at it taking one piece at a time and hopefully it i’ll come more together. That tech manual even referred to you.
I have my opinions on all the PC sims out there. I think this BMS flies so smooth and responsive and the technical aspects of it are 2nd to none! It’s really rewarding for the individual who can achieve it’s grasp. I am at a position within my reality that is limiting my being able to handle simulation that I must and will overcome.
So what’s the best way to start to understand all the categories in the advanced controller set up menu described in chapter 2 or the tech manual? 1st,… I have to learn that so I can start learning…:bowd:
