Hi!
Recently I’m a proud owner of a EDTracker Pro and I want to share my impression…
Calibration is unusual, but easy.
I’m using it with a baseball cap, one velcro stripe on the top of the cap, one under the tracker, works.
In the beginning I had massiv issues with the wireless connection, because it was always lost.
But then I took a simple USB-Hub (almost as an extension), that I have nothing between the EDTracker and the dongle, and since then I have a absolut stable connection.
And now, this thing works like a charm, the head movement is absolute stable and “soft”.
What it now needs is a “pseudo 6-DOF”, hadn’t currently not the time, but I see no problem there.
As additional software for use in the sim, I use OpenTrack 2.3.9 (not installed, only running by the exe).
Conclusion:
I was searching for a “cheap” head tracker, others then TrackIR (I had TrackIR 4), but with 6 DOF.
Because I not really want to zoom, only to get a little nearer to the instruments (legibility by FOV==100) and I wanted absolutely no cable, my choice was the EDTracker. And I’m really happy with it.
Best regards
