The weather data you are describing is based on ATIS/TAF/METAR weather reporting formats.

The format is highly standardised by the ICAO and the WMO but there are international variations; for example, the FAA reporting format for North America departs from the international standards in a few minor ways, mainly related to non-standardised units of measurement, such as atmospheric pressure (measured in mm Hg in the US versus hecto-pascals in Europe and elsewhere). It looks to me that BMS follows the ICAO standard but I’m sure one of BMS veterans will be able to say definitively.

I don’t think there is any information in any of the BMS manuals (if there is, I haven’t found it either), but there are a lot of resources online to help.

I’ve started doing some formation flying and have found that Figure 3.1 in the F-16 MCH contains “Canopy reference codes”.

There seem to be two reference codes; one seems to reference degrees off the nose, but I am unsure what the other (on the right hand side of the diagram) references; does it refer to degrees back from the HUD or the vertical? If not, (a) to what does it refer and (b) how would I use it when flying formation?

I have performed a search on the forum and on the web but cannot find an answer.

CMS Left doesn’t seem to work on the Warthog. Been that way for a while, I haven’t found anyone who has a solution yet.

You may well have seen this, but there was a version of the TARGET software that affected CMS left and one or two other switches: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?27093-New-TARGET-Software-Update

I had the same problem with CMS left and one of the ENG switches and reverted to an earlier version of TARGET that had previously worked for me.

I believe there is now an updated version that also works but I haven’t tried it personally.

I just wanted to say a public thank you to Falcas for working on his excellent MC, helping me to convert missions from Allied Force to BMS 4.33.U1.

I’ve been using Mud’s profile but made subtle changes for my own requirements and I think it is an excellent profile.

But as you’ve used Morphine’s for a long time, you are probably most familiar with his (great) profile - there probably isn’t a compelling reason to change.
