      @Blu3wolf:

      How best should the gunner react to the defender repositioning?

      Standard fighter pilot answer: it depends. And it really does. Enough to maintain the offensive. A lot of factors go into it: Vc, HCA, range. A slight lag off to create some LOS might be good enough. If it isn’t, you have co-roll and counter-roll repositions if the defender decides to tuck-under jink. If you really f*cked it up, then you need to quarter plane. However, expect to present reversal cues to the defender and him to try to reverse.

      @Viking:

      From my understanding it would not be a good idea to consent to release by pressing CMS aft when a missile is incoming due to HOJ. When a hostile threat gets within firing range I usually turn off jammer or flash it. If he fires then I turn it off and keep it off so it doesn’t HOJ. If I consent to release with CMS aft doesn’t it turn the jammer on which could give them a HOJ? For this reason it seems to me like consenting to auto release is never a wise choice. I would be interested to hear more.

      This was one of my concerns, but this seems like a good tactic to implement.

      Since I had to stop flying for real because of medical issues, I’ve decided to use my logbook to record virtual flight hours…

      Yup! Pretty easy to work out, what with the pitch ladder showing that angle to you in 5 degree increments. Im not sure FPA is an acronym used in the book, but it works. Im more used to seeing dive angle or climb angle.

      Hi Sarge
      Thanks. I think I worked it out. My WH had gone to sleep and my power and airspeed were too low, hence I think the system assumed I was moving in for a landing.
