Hi all, I was out of town for work all weekend, so I’m back home and tinkering with BMS now and hopefully will resolve all my issues.
Thanks again for everyone’s advice and I’ll report back with my results.

Shep: I sent you a PM
Frederf: The instructions inside Falcon BMS 4.33 U1>Docs>Key Files & Input>Device Setup Guides & Profiles>CH Fighterstick & Pro Throttle say to use Mapped Mode.
Shadow: I think you are correct, because I am also brand new to the CH combo having come from an X52.
Icarus: I had files inside that directory also, but I didn’t know if they came with the game or if I had created them myself, so I will be doing a clean install of BMS to be extra sure.
Okay I am going to uninstall BMS, clean the registry, and do a totally clean install and find out if there is a pre-built profile.
Wait what? I didn’t find any sort of profile within my installation. There were instructions in a pdf to create said profile.
I am following along in the “DX CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle” pdf file, but I don’t really understand what to do when we get to page 6 in the section which says “Define DX button map”.
I open the spreadsheet, enable Macros in Excel 2007, and then I got kinda lost so I started following the videos in the link I posted to the other thread.
Are you saying there is a pre-built profile for the CH already?
Worther, is that stuff from Snelle on the forum or is it inside the install directory?
Darkman, one of my issues with the Key File Editor is that its instructions are little hard to follow at times. I had posted about it in this other thread.
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?27143-How-to-use-the-Key-File-Editor
At this time I think I’ll try to print out the diagram showing the key bindings in the Key File Editor and try to enter those manually in the options menu.
Shep as for horsepower I’ve got it in spades.
Asus Maximis VII Hero motherboard
Core i7-4790k with Noctua NH-14S
32 GB DDR3-2400
EVGA GTX-980 SC
Samsung 840 Pro 500 GB
Asus Xonar D1 sound card.
As for the Key File Editor it doesn’t really make sense to me, and I’m someone who uses excel semi regularly. I had found some videos which kinda explained it, but maybe you would be willing to record your own walkthrough on how to use it?
Okay so I only need to edit one single .cfg as Icy said. Got it.
As for the FOV I am using bezel correction so I have 5860 x 1080 so maybe I’ll use FOV 135?
I will go consult the -1 and -34 manuals as well. Shadow is there any reason you stopped using triple monitor?
Blu3wolf I’ll try it your way and program basic things through the in game menu.
I’ll report back tomorrow how this all goes.
Many thanks to everyone, great community much love.
Arty,
Ice’s post seemed to imply that I only need to edit one single file .cfg or is that not true?
Do I still need to open and edit every day and night cockpit .dat file? I did not do that and that would probably explain my issues with triple monitors.
Well do you know the general procedure of setting up controls in the game? The documentation that came with the game seemed pretty insistent on setting up via the Key File Editor. Should I just try to manually setup through the in game options?
Also if you at least know how to configure BMS for triple monitor that should solve my issues. I tried using the mousewheel and it didn’t let me zoom out.
I don’t have an issue with actually learning the sim, my problems are entirely setup related.
Okay so not to sound melodramatic, but setting up Falcon BMS has been one of the worst software experiences I’ve ever had.
So far I have managed to install Falcon 4 from GOG, torrent the BMS 4.33U1 Mod and install it.
I have my 3x 1080p displays setup in nvidia surround with bezel correction. Thats about where all the good new ends.
I can’t seem to get my controls to work. I have a CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. Yes its running in mapped mode. Yes I have saved and applied the profile.
I’ve followed Arty’s guides on getting the FOV for triple monitor to work, and guess what no dice. When I start a mission it still loads super zoomed up on the HUD, and because the controls dont want to work anyway, I can’t zoom out.
This is just really really frustrating.
What am I doing wrong? Are the CH sticks just bad with BMS? Or does BMS just hate triple monitor?
I really want to play this game, and I’m not a stupid guy. I’ve built my own desktops for last 10 years and have been familiar with other flight sims. I’ve watched so many videos of people playing BMS and I really desperately want to join in on the community, but I can’t even begin to take the first steps to actually learn the jet.
Would anyone in the community be willing to really hold my hand and help me troubleshoot getting this game setup and get it working?
