@Croa Yes, I was able to fix. Glad it’s working for you

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@k3yb04rd Thanks for replying to those questions. I’m working with one other person on this, but I’d like to bring you into the testing with access to some trial builds. Do you have a Discord account where you could join into the FoxVox discord server?
FoxVox Discord: https://discord.gg/vc37eJ4Bsp
If not, I’ll PM you with the info.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@Nightflyer Are you referring to the newer Microsoft Speech Platform? I’m aware of it but haven’t implemented it yet, although I’m certain I could. I’ve been busy with BMS integration and key input but I’ve wanted to add this to the project. I’ll look into it further.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@k3yb04rd I really hoped this release would fix it for you as others had even more severe symptoms which it fixed, and they were on AMD hardware as well. The graphics driver certainly could be a culprit. I’ve seen WPF (what FV uses for its display) have strange problems and behavior with certain graphics drivers - typically older outdated ones. It’s speculative at best, but make sure your driver is up to date. I have a couple of questions for you to try and learn more:
- Do you experience any delays, hangups, or lag with FV itself while operating it?
- Is the flickering immediate or does it seem to build up after a while?
- Do any other analog switches cause the stuttering in BMS other than the zoom, such as moving the radar cursor?
- If you minimize FV to the system tray when running it, does it still flicker in BMS?
- Do you have the zoom mapped only in BMS (not anywhere in FV)?
Perhaps something will help clue me in on what might be going on. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this, but so far others with AMD and using TM Warthog are reporting that everything is working fine.
Edit: Someone else has reported the same issue using the same throttle. Working on it…

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
I’ve posted a video showing basic startup of FoxVox for new users to get up and running with voice control:

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@dumba Thanks for letting me know. I’ve recompiled and updated the exe with new signatures so hopefully it gets through. I’ve seen that happen once before where Windows just decides it’s bad…not really sure what trips it, but hopefully it’s fixed now.
Edit: Well apparently that didn’t fix it. Windows just doesn’t like my update apparently. I’ve provided the msi inside a zip file as a workaround for anyone being blocked until the problem can be resolved.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@k3yb04rd A new update has been posted. Give it a try and see if it fixes your issue. Anyone else who has experienced performance issues should definitely check out this new version…actually everyone using it should update for better performance.
Special thanks to @jojojung for his help in testing and providing feedback, and also @Wheelchock as always for ensuring everything else stayed working. As always, let me know if you find any bugs or issues and I’ll do my best to fix it.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@pes_ter Thanks for the heads-up! I think I’ve got a solution pending, or at least in progress. I’ll post information about an update very soon.

@k3yb04rd Saw the visual and investigating.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@airtex2019 Will do. Problem doesn’t seem superficial, but not sure yet. I’ll fill you in on what I find.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@jojojung could you provide the contents from the error log that it created? That will help me know what’s going on. You can drop it off in discord if you wish.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@jojojung Were you having this issue with earlier versions or just the latest? As an experiment, does it change anything if you remap the PTT buttons to your joystick directly instead of using the variable binding?
-
RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
Updated to v2.4.1 - this focuses only on performance and bug fixes. An issue with PTT bindings having significant lag under some circumstances was brought to my attention along with a sound playback problem and other minor things which have all been addressed.
I have created a discord server to provide another convenient way of submitting bug/feature requests. Feel free to join here: https://discord.gg/vc37eJ4Bsp

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
I have just posted an updated library which experimentally supports BMS key binding automatically. The following features should be set automatically:
- UHF/VHF Push-to-Talk
- Large Movements based on joystick input for VCC
- Left & Right Brake Movements based on joystick/keyboard input for VCC
- MPO Switch for VCC
A new FoxVoxParser plugin ships with it. There is also a minor update to the core FoxVox app which was needed to provide a little more functionality with the variable bindings to make it all work so be sure to get it as well. This is a major step forward in the integration with BMS, but there’s still more to go. The library was in need of a little bit of attention though, so I’ve finally got the new one out for those interested to play around with. Still so much to do, but I’m plugging away at it.
You can get the new library here:

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
There was a missing tag in the 2.4 release code which caused key press output values not to serialize properly - Sorry, my bad!! This will show in outputs showing up as ? None in the outputs list.
This is fixed and a build 2.4.0.1 is currently available.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
For those interested, v2.4 has now been released. This version is designed primarily to extend variables to inputs to dynamically connect with BMS bindings. It also, however, has many nice new UI enhancements, bug fixes, and features. As always, view the changelog for more info.
The exciting news is that this version is verified to work with a new library design that links the key file and automatically sets push-to-talk and other inputs based on how they are set up in BMS. I am working on the new library release that will have this dynamic binding pre-programmed in, but I have further updates to include analog & POV bindings in the FoxVox parser. There’s still a lot to do but expect the first new library update in a couple of weeks
In the meantime, enjoy this release.

@Grumble Apologies…not intending to derail your thread…just helping out a friend and anyone needing a PS3 camera solution. Your TrackIR mount looks incredible!

RE: Is there a way to use mouse as joystick?
@Landsame You can use FoxVox to do this. You can translate mouse input to any custom output; including keyboard key presses or even virtual joystick commands using vJoy. It’s free and adds voice control capabilities as well. Be sure to watch the v2.0 tutorial video on youtube for more info.

RE: FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
@Cryo Make sure to do the windows speech training…even going through it several times if possible. That may help.
