@kavelenko I think due to the lack of a radar on a real A-10.

    • RE: SAM AI vs AI flights

@jstnj you can find more information in “The Vault” doc by TeeSquare.

And i highly recommend playing SAM simulator.

There are many search radars, but in the case of SA-2, only Spn Rst in BMS. So you only need to destroy Fan Song FCR radar with HARMs or knockout Spn Rst with other “toys”.=)

    • RE: SA 15 Gauntlet SAM Evasion

@Jackal Low level flight quickly turns to suicide. I had too many shots by manpads/AA while flying at low level. It’s also waste of fuel. On angels 20+ and high true speed, in my opinion, it’s better to fly 😃

SA-15 will get ya up to 30 000 feets, so playing with fire is a bad idea. Also in real life it has 2 target channels (2 missiles per tgt) and anti-ARM capability.

    • RE: Airstrikes in the campaign

@Supernova i think that the destruction of most of them will give some effect for a scenario of a long war (10+ days), but not for a 2-3 day blitzkrieg towards Pyongyang.

In any case, find where the enemy is, strike as soon as you can, strike as hard as you can and keep moving…

@Gear5 The Falcon sound engine is very old. 4.35 now simulates an always-on pilot’s headset.

    • RE: Campaign medals

      @didimos User Manual, 9.7.3 Medals & Dogfight

Basically yeah, you need to destroy the main target + something around (especially if it is statics, bandits and ships) and return home w/o losses. Now it is very easy to get a medal because of battalion sandwiches. I killed ~30 vehicles with only 8 SDBs on my last flight…

    • RE: 4.36 AI behaviour problems (air & ground)

@pgk007 AI sometimes stumbles out of the blue in 3D, but not regularly, maybe it depends on the ordnance being carried or on converging stars… In 2D 1 or 2 destroyed targets are typical since 4.36 regardless of which targets are assigned for the strike flight

    • RE: 4.36 AI behaviour problems (air & ground)

@pgk007 In my opinion, this 2D behavior encourages players to do more air strikes on their own than to sit in air bases and wait for the HQ to eliminate most of the threats.

@k3yb04rd just run BMS config through AL -> Avionics -> Cursor speed.

Btw i use the same throttle and have no problems with cursor control.

    • RE: More Jammer Pod, more effectiveness?

@VDK The ESJ in BMS is just a 30nm bubble around the jamming aircraft in which all ADs except AAA become inactive. It also does not affect enemy aircrafts. Therefore, i believe that carrying more than 2 ALQs is not practical. But when the jammer AC turns to self-defense against a threat outside of the bubble (or outside of target waypoints) it is somewhat similar to the F-16 or other AI aircraft.

    • RE: Detecting missiles & shooting it down?

@bbostjan The most effective weapon against BM is an air defense system with a kinetic interceptor. Shrapnel and AAA are ineffective, they do not have such damage to destroy the BMs, especially their warheads.

Don’t even try to stop an APC in a civilian car.
