I would use Foxvox in Linux if I could get the window to not go black on my after 30 secs. I load it in a wine prefix just fine and it launched just fine with no errors until the window went black.

Turns Into this once I click in the window:

RE: Linux BMS users Voice Attack can be used........

@Freejack

That’s very great news, thanks for sharing! Does this setup make use of the windows voice recognition packs?

Sadly I’ve found Linux speech recognition / snythesis severely lacking.

Cheers,

Uwe

It uses the packs mentioned to be installed in the link. It is the microsoft speech engine and packs.

Linux BMS users Voice Attack can be used........

Just a quick note for Linux users Voice Attack can be used I have it setup using the following instructions: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/g1bbos/guide_to_getting_voiceattack_and_hcs_voicepacks/

Yes these instructions are for Elite Dangerous but if you follow them it will work for Falcon BMS.

Also if you have it installed thru Lutris you can download the files and execute them in the prefix and run winetricks to add the dotnet stuff.

RE: LAU-88 Question

@Freejack drag is certainly part of it, good point on not being able to carry newer Mavericks. Another rumor is that either the missile back blast or motor plug of the most inboard LAU-88ed Maverick can cause damage to the flaps or elevator.

Hence carry on a single LAU-117/A, center rack position would sit lower than the 2 on the side of the LAU_88/A. Just thought it was interesting about why and the new Maverick would have newer avionics and a newer engine which probably gives it greater distance and more stability.

RE: LAU-88 Question

@Snake122

I think this explains why you don’t see them in todays inventory, they used to work.

The LAU-88/A Triple-Rail Missile Launcher was manufactured by Hughes for use with the AGM-65 Maverick. The Maverick is fired either from single-rail LAU-117/A or triple-rail LAU-88/A launchers, and AGM-65 units, such as the A-10 and F-16, use both the LAU-88 and LAU-117 launchers. The newest Mavericks are not compatible with the LAU-88 – the Maverick-G only goes on certain versions of the LAU-117. While the LAU-88 can carry them, the drag index with three missiles is quite high. A modified LAU-88/A is usually fitted to high-performance aircraft, offering a reduced-drag fairing (up to 60% in certain flight profiles). The F-16 aircraft has nine hardpoints for weapons and payloads, with ordnance launched from the LAU-88 launchers from Hughes, along with other similar systems.

RE: BMS 4.35 Screenshots

@Jetsun it was a slippery slope, I made a few passes and got in a hurry and damaged my gear did another go around and then Bingo, so the choice was either put it on the ground or eject. I chose to put it down and I ended up skidding off the runway.

RE: Falcon-Briefing - view briefings on your smartphone/tablet/any web browser

@justonce01 working 100% and if using lutris you can create a script to pre-launch so once in you do not have to start it. I will also create a script to shutdown on exit.

RE: IS there a Theater that is composed of Training and Free Flight exercises?

@Quasi_Stellar Never have created one this is my first time using BMS. I have been a Falcon Flyer/Pilot since sims were a thing. My first Falcon was on the Commodore Amiga, then a 486 PC, when I got involved with Linux games didn’t do so well so I kinda did not play many of them if they did not work. Now that. that world is opening back up I am back into my Flight sims and learning.

RE: Falcon-Briefing - view briefings on your smartphone/tablet/any web browser

@justonce01 Oh thank you so much, there is a way to make it check for winreg and if it does not find it then ask for the path. I am not well versed in python but I saw it in the google search when I did the winreg lookup.

Working now to create a simple bash script to execute it everytime I run Falcom-BMS.

RE: Falcon-Briefing - view briefings on your smartphone/tablet/any web browser

Anyone running this with Linux install?
Ok I can run all this in Linux except I am getting this:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File “falcon-briefing.py”, line 30, in <module>
import winreg
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘winreg’

I am now trying to figure out a way around this.

RE: IS there a Theater that is composed of Training and Free Flight exercises?

@AviationPlus More open Flight type that I could use in other theaters, like Nevada. Is there a way to move a TE to another theater?

Also thank you for that link that is great. Also since I play on Linux for some reason I can not print out the briefings is there a way to get the briefings another way or possibly display that info like on my android tablet?

RE: IS there a Theater that is composed of Training and Free Flight exercises?

@AviationPlus Yes in the Korean KTO, I am looking for some that are outside of this with no precept of combat just training. The KTO training is familiarization. Was just looking for more of a training with free flight.

IS there a Theater that is composed of Training and Free Flight exercises?

I know the idea is combat in a theater, but I know the majority in reality is constant training. I am looking for a non hostile area to conduct training exercises with touch and goes refueling/air refueling and formation training.

Does anything like that exist or does anyone have anything they created that fits this that they would be willing to share?
