    • RE: Downloading bms 4.33

      Do you have a version of Falcon 4 installed? It’s now required. You can get it off Good Old Games or Steam.

      Just placed my order (CTXKXWETB). Looking forward to it! I’m assuming ARMA 3 support would be sound-mode only?

      Is this button working for anyone? I mapped it to a button in 4.33 but it never did anything. I realize it’s not a real F16 button, and so maybe it was deprecated and removed.

    • RE: HMS usage without radar?

      As said, holding CURSOR ENABLE will keep the Sidewinder diamond in your view. While holding CURSOR ENABLE (the diamond should be in the center of your view as you look around), look at a target, hit UNCAGE and it’ll stick on him. If the diamond doesn’t lock-on and drifts merrily away, hit UNCAGE again to center it (all the while keeping CURSOR ENABLE held down) and repeat trying to uncage on the target until it sticks. The tone growl will change and you can release CURSOR ENABLE and Fire!

      Will add here another cool thing you can do with JHMCS. With Radar On (if in Dogfight override mode with “NO RADAR”, hit TMS up once to Turn radar on), you can hold TMS UP to display an oval wherever you’re looking, Release TMS UP when you have a target in this oval, and the Radar will lock it up. Obviously has to be within limits.

      The JHMCS is my favorite part of BMS. I love using both the Radar Lock Up feature and the AIM-9X off boresite (especially when the radar is off….so sneaky!).

    • RE: Beta Release: GPT (cockpit texture extraction, remote cockpit control, shm mirror)

      I’m still getting lag using these new versions This is on a gigabit LAN. Oftentimes if I hit a button, such as SWAP, it’ll take a few seconds before it shows up on the Client.

      On previous versions (those for 4.32), I could get good results even when the Client was on WiFi. Any tips on reducing lag? Any settings that would affect this besides max_hz and jpeg quality? (for example, the old version has a max_kbps variable).

      thanks.

    • RE: Looking for good tips

      @pandacat:

      What is INC-DEC procedure?

      I believe he means incrementing the steerpoint between weapon pickles. I’m not an expert, but in my understanding one way to do what you want is:

      • before the mission starts, use Recon and assign different steerpoints to however many targets you want to hit. Say Flight Plan is #1 - #7, with Target at #5. I keep #5 as a general area, but use Recon and set say SP #10 to Building 1 and SP #11 to Building 2 (or whatever the targets are).
      • in cockpit, set the spacing in a CCRP profile for the bombs to 999ft and ripple to say 2.
      • as you get close to target, set Steerpoint to #10. Set AG mode to CCRP.
      • when release cue is near, hold Pickle, and get a finger ready to Increment the Steerpoint. When you hear first bomb release, Increment to #11, and when the second bomb comes off, it’ll be programmed to hit that second target.

      Basically the 999ft gives you time to switch Steerpoints between release, and whatever SP is selected when the bomb releases is what it goes after. This only works when the targets you want to hit are relatively close to each other, such as different buildings at an airfield or something.

      I apologize if this isn’t what you’re talking about at all!

    • RE: TPG horizontal slew speed too fast?

      @Leech:

      Put the TGP ( Not the TPG) in a track mode, so the slew is set for TGP rates.
      If the TGP is not in a track mode, then the slew is set for FCR rates

      Thanks for replying Leech, just confused about this apparent contradiction: “Put the TGP ( Not the TGP) in a track mode.” Did you mean TGP both times there?

    • TPG horizontal slew speed too fast?

      My TPG slews crazy fast in the horizontal direction, making targeting difficult. The vertical speed is fine. I’m assuming this is “on purpose,” that the X direction is so much faster?

      I know you can adjust cursor speed using Config.exe, but if I knock that down to say 50%, the FCR cursors are unbearably slow.

    • RE: Beta Release: GPT (cockpit texture extraction, remote cockpit control, shm mirror)

      GiGurra,

      Thanks so much for these tools! I used the previous version on 4.32 and it was perfect.

      In the new version I’m getting a bit of lag between my actions in the sim, and what I see on the receiver displays. Could changing the JPEG quality help minimize this? Does it affect the delay? Going from 50hz to 30hz definitely helped, but I’m thinking if I go lower than 30hz, there might be less for the receiver to deal with, but it won’t be smooth.
