After tweaking focus stuff. The 3D effect just like the DCS . First time i can fell what F-16 cockpit exactly fells like, those lovely knobs ,swithes and 33" wings.
But the overall experience is far away from perfect.
The current main issue is still the SBS solution. Only The Tridef 3D can provied compatiable stereoscopic for BMS. However it eats almost 40% of frame rate.
Im using reshade/sweetfX to fix the barrel distortion. And virtual desktop warp the side-byside stereoscopic to Oculus CV1 directly.
Too many post-procedures clamp the performance.
Im runing 2.5K resolution (equivalent 1.5X Supersample CV1) with GTX1070 and workstation Xeon cpu. The Fps is only 45 around. Even disable all those thing, BMS itself still get very hard to reach 90+ FPS at this resolution .
It is the minimum resolution(or pixel density) for Flight sim , if lower will make all gauges and HUD un-readable.
I have played a lot VR already. I get used to low FPS issue almost ,motion sickness. But it is not comfortable. Some people may not sustain such frame lag for a hour.
Next step, im looking for vireio perception 1.4 when it quits beta.It probably has better performance. Modify the driver for BMS if possilbe. But i have no idea how d3d proxy works now. So there is no promising.
Still , the best solution for BMS VR dream. That is sending the BMS core team a headset(skipable procedure) and kidnaping their wife?( MUST DO IT;)). MAKE THEM SUPPORT VR NATIVE RUNTIME.
