Perfect! That makes sense…they revert to the ICP functions once i’m in 3D mode…which is why I can’t see them activate the ICP functions when i’m in the Keymapping area of the launcher. Hadn’t thought to check that!
      Thanks!

    • Key Mapping Question

Apologies for the basic post - i’m returning to BMS after a long hiatus
Trying to map some keys on my various devices and it seems that the F1 and the F2 keys are both assigned to two different functions F1 - assigned to both ICP COM1 (which is what I want to map) AND IVC Global, F2 assigned to both ICP COM2 (another I want to map) is IVC Local
I can’t see anyway in the launcher to substitute a different keystroke for the two IVC functions so I can assign the F1 and F2 keys to the respective ICP functions (and onto my device)

    • Cannot Start/Communicate with Thrustmaster FAST Service

As in the title…i’m having trouble configuring my Warthog HOTAS to work with Morphines Profile and BMS

Its not keen on me assigning joystick axis in the Falcon Set Up Tab (specifically Joystick X/Y)
and if I try to run the device analyzer I get the “Cannot Start/Communicate with Thrustmaster FAST Service” error
If I run the script and the device analyzer outside BMS - it seem to function correctly (recognises the correct axis inputs/event tester shows the correct events for buttons pressed…
I’ve tried uninstalling the Target Software and a clean install but got the same occurrence…
      Any suggestions?

    • RE: BMS4.33U1+keyboard problem-SAITEK x52 Pro

What do you mean about the new bindings?

I mean the new axis bindings…
      IE Throttle/Rudder/Toe Breaks - X/Y Cursor - Antenna elevation etc…
Those that I would go into Controllers>Advanced tabs to change…

If I go into Controllers>Advanced to make any changes - once I exit the Advanced Tabs the issues with keyboard commands not being recognised occurs.

I have a feeling its an issue with my BMS>User>Config>DeviceDefaults File (as its keeps Growing! And its last updated date changes with everytime I play Falcon) but as exiting BMS and starting over makes everything work fine (with any changes I made saved) I can’t be bothered to fix the issue at the moment…I just work around it!

    • RE: BMS4.33U1+keyboard problem-SAITEK x52 Pro

When I exit ADVANCED after that the keyboard is frozen up and only the Saitek commands work.

Don’t think this is a Saitek issue…as exactly the same happens to me with CH FS/PT/PPs if i go to controllers>advanced to check or edit axis bindings when i exit advanced none of the keyboard commands (or the associated HOTAS binds) work…only the joystick axis…
I’ve learned to live with it as restarting BMS has it good as gold WITH the new bindings

    • RE: Not able to lock up targets

Thats… not boresight mode. That is spotlight search.

Ooops! Sorry you’re absolutely right…its only BORE if you’re in ACM mode…not RWS or TWS my mistake!

_G550_Apologies in advance…if you think this is patronising…but you’re not trying to lock up the Triangle that appears on your FCR and represents a steerpoint are you? Actual radar targets are squares…
Just a thought - because I will (cough) admit to trying to do that a couple of times when I first started back to BMS!

    • RE: Not able to lock up targets

G550 I’ve got a CH FS/PT based set up and have had various controller based issues in BMS…as you’ll see from my posting history LOL!

Might be worth checking if this is an issue with your TMS mapping or your cockpit set up/switchology before investigating further…

If your FCR is active and in RWS mode…TWS Right long (press and hold) will switch between RWS and TWS mode…and in TWS Mode TMS Right long (press and hold) will switch back to RWS…this is easy to see in your MFD and isn’t so dependent on other factors…
Likewise TMS Up long (press and hold) will instantly activate Boresight Mode (narrow FOV) and this is easy to see in your MFD as there will be two long vertical bars on screen showing the limits of your radar sweep…releasing TMS Up will put radar back into normal mode
(I appreciate this is Exactly what Frederf suggested…I’ve just explained it in a different way)
If they’re both working - its unlikely to be a TMS mapping issue and you just need to check your switchology/cockpit set up…

    • Bizarre Input Issue

I’m not sure if this is a Falcon issue…a generic Controller Issue…or a more specific CH HOTAS Issue so bear with me…

Having had my Inputs (HOTAS/Track IR/Speech) working well for a while now…I made the mistake (oh foolish falconeer) of adding another device…a Logitech G13 to emulate the ICP/DED
I thought i’d got it working…but obviously Windows decided to reset my controller order and Falcon 4 lost all my Axis assignments…so far fine and dandy…
After the usual un-intuitive dance I got Pitch/Roll Throttle Rudder Toe-Brakes and Cursor Axis assigned and working…GREAT!
Now what happens is that everything works great…BUT if I go to set up>Controllers>advanced and merely VIEW any of the Tabs (View Control/Flight Control/Avionics control etc) when I exit to the Set Up>Controllers screen…Falcon (whilst still retaining my axis assignments) simply refuses to accept any keyboard and/or button inputs from my devices at all it doesn’t register them it doesn’t show them activating in the control list box to the right…
Now exiting Falcon returning to Falcon doesn’t cause it to sulk and refuse to accept button/keyboard inputs NOR even does switching the computer off and coming back to it after a while turning on activating my Joysticks and restarting Falcon (all of which you might consider more likely causes of the issue) ONLY going into the Setup>Controllers>advanced Tabs…

Now obviously you say…the easy solution is DON’T go into those Tabs, but sadly I’m guessing that this is merely one symptom of a deeper problem…which will presumably come back to haunt me deep into the middle of a campaign mission or MP flight (at a time of maximum embarrassment)

So does anyone have a clue whats going on?

(For reference I’ve got a CH FS/PT/PP and Logitech G13 controller set up)
