It would be nice to create and navigate subfolders In the Campaign folder for organizing saved TEs.

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
In the Dogfight arena - the aircraft should remember their settings between fights. For example in 2v1 training, lead and wingman practice ACM against a Mig and upon entering a new session - we must set the yard stick, VHF and UHF frequencies, set DMD and other fence-in tasks. Then we’re ready to fight the Mig. We can give ourselves enough time to do all that by setting the initial range at 35+ miles.
Once we’ve defeated the Mig a new session is spawned and we have to set everything up again, before engaging the new Mig. So if we’re going to go through a training session of 10-20 sessions - having to reset all the controls each time is a pain.
Ideally if you set up the controls in the first session and they remain for all subsequent sessions until you leave the Dogfight arena.

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
When assigning a Squadron to an airbase it drops the squadron icon right on top of the field. Sometimes difficult to see identifying info for the base or squadron. Airbases should be able to have multiple squadrons as in real life. The base size and facilities can determine how many squadron ‘slots’ are available. Should be able to ‘mouse-over’ the airbase to see the base identifier. Have the squadron symbol indicate one or more squadrons. Right-click to see a pop up list of squadrons and their aircraft types based at that airport. Same principle for aircraft carrier - multiple squadrons. So A6, F18C and F14 can all launch from the carrier.

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
In the 2D Briefing environment for both the Weapons selection and the Recon screens - allow panning, rotating and zoom in/out using the mouse/mouse wheel directly on the image (Aircraft in the case of the arming page and the target area in the case on the recon page).

Add ILS DME capability
According to the documentation, BMS does not feature ILS DME so in TCN / ILS (PLS) mode the DME is from the TACAN.
Reference: bms-comms-nav-book.pdf page 64. TCN/ILS (PLS) MODE.

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
Realistically, the pilot would choose between a JHMCS visor or NVG. Don’t think you can have both. So that should be an option on the loadout - you could default it to JHMCS and have to select the NVG option.

RE: Making my own checklist
@Coral36 I am using printed checklists and maps mainly because I am sitting in a simpit of the Viper.

RE: Required emergency memory procedures
Usually these memory items are the first 3 or 4 items for a particular emergency event. They are committed to memory because they need to happen immediately, in correct order before taking time to consult the checklist. They are in bold text on the checklist.

Assigning HOTAS
What is the best procedure for assigning Cougar HOTAS settings in the setup?
I currently have the first and second detent trigger not functioning. First detent seems to be assignable, but then doesn’t shoot when in the cockpit. Trigger 2 detent shows as non assigned in the setup.
Is there a fool proof way of assigning these HOTAS buttons and making them remember their settings?
Also, you can’t see what is assigned unless clicking on it - and then you’re in assignment mode. Is there away to see the assignments in BMS without having to click on the input?

RE: Assigning HOTAS
Thanks all for the input. I appreciate all the ideas. Years ago i had all this working, having recently returned to BMS i had forgotten the many tricks.
Solution was i needed to hold trigger at first detent, click on 2nd trigger detent in the UI, then pull trigger to 2nd detent. The set up 1st trigger detent.

RE: question about place airplane (static) on airport
@skippermike yes. That will work. You can time it that way.

RE: Upgrade to FCC3 for Cougar
One thing i verified was that during the FCC3 configuration in CCP, I should not set min/max values for X and Y axis. Just leave the read value that the board gets which I think is around 318-325.
This provides me with good and expected control inputs.
However, the stick does not retain these values between sessions (PC off / PC On). I must reapply each time I restart my PC.
I should not have to do this - right? Shouldn’t the stick remember the settings?
The Startup Options are as shown in my screen capture above.
The Manual Calibration file was created and saved.
But to get the stick working with the right values and the correct “feel”. I must select Manual calibration in the Calibration Mode section and click on Apply.I can then run the BMS sim and the stick works fine.
This doesn’t seem right. Seems like the stick should retain the values.
What do other FCC3 Cougar users experience? -
RE: Upgrade to FCC3 for Cougar
@Atlas
I am doing something wrong - or not understanding something about the setup procedure.I thought the deal was not to use MS Windois calibration tools with the FCC3…
I appear to be the only one in history with this issue. Hopefully someone has something for me to try / troubleshoot.

RE: Upgrade to FCC3 for Cougar
I could use some advice from FCC users.
I am having issues with consistency and accuracy with my FCC3. modified TM Cougar stick.
In this photo - I am applying the ‘right’ amount of pressure I want - but getting little movement in the axis.
As best as I can determine I have set it up correctly following Arends instruction manual - setting the zero points with the small potentiometers.
I have also used the CCP app to set the min/max ranges for the X and Y axis. I do not have any other axis in use - I use a separate TM TPD rudder and TM Viper TQS.
I have this setup for manual calibration, however unless I start the program and apply it to the stick before using it, I does not remember the settings and I do not get much movement with the axes in game.It seems like it should remember the settings and the CCP program should not need to be started for each gaming session. Is that correct?
I did have to click the CENTER button in the BMS setup, because the stick’s centering was not centered.
I general I am not getting equal physical force vs x/y movement in all 4 directions. Pitch down is much more sensitive and a left hand roll requires less physical effort.
On a separate issue - I also need a way to make pitch less sensitive in AAR - the instructions show a scripting example - but I am not sure what file that script gets added to…
I am not using Foxy nor am I using any CCP deadzones or curves.
Can anyone provide some advice please?

RE: Changing Time with Mission Commander
@Kavelenko
Ok. That works now.
I definitely was not understanding the two places I needed to change the time. The pictures helped.
Thanks! -
RE: Changing Time with Mission Commander
@Icarus ok. Thanks, i will try that.

RE: thrustmaster viper F16 hotas
@Atlas I have been flying the new TM TQS since it came out. I like it -its good quality. I am having quite a bit of difficult flying at exact speeds. I suppose some of that is technique, but there doesn’t seem to be as much ‘fine-tuning’ capability as I had hope for a product at this price.

RE: Changing Time with Mission Commander
@Icarus
yup. Tried that. What i am missing is where specifically to change things. I’ve tried a number of variations including the suggestions above in this post. I still am missing something. -
RE: Changing Time with Mission Commander
I have a particular TE designed to allow me to practice an IFR approach. I have everything setup the way I need it, but I also want a version of it taking place at night, which is why I wanted to move the clock forward 4 hours on the copy I made of the TE. Seems like Mission Commander should be able to do this.
Recreating it isn’t what I want to do - since I won’t be an exact copy. Recreating it as a new TE would definitely take longer. Also, There is only one F16 in the TE - nothing else.
