For those looking to level up their SEAD/DEAD game, might wanna check out these videos. Includes the full end to end planning loop, threat assessment, action, planning of fighter to fighter briefs, action and reviews.
Editor, Units tab, Squadrons tab, roles are displayed. Tasks must be above 0. Growlers have 100 ECM, 60 SEAD. They do DEAD regularly. I think SEAD makes both SEAD and DEAD.
on 2nd look… you’re right.
I was editing the “Vehicles” section, which for some reason… also have the same values and they are not in sync!
Just mod or copy the standard AS16 and set explosion type to ‘nuclear’ and adjust blast radius and power , see B61 so compare … try and error.
BUT! caveat: nukes have too much of impact … I once destroyed whole fleets 300nm away (in Adriatic) when dropped B61 on Beograd . So, damage modeling is not correct , at least for naval.
Ground objects/vehicles seems alright, radius of destruction was some 5-10nm.
After watching these videos I was inspired and 12 hours into BEAR TRAP, man oh man Russian fighters are tough. Hit more Ctrl-E in the last two days than the last two months COMBINED. Putting up AMRAAMs against the R-77 is like watching a small person being held in arms length by a basketball player. AI wingman’s limits are showing, as well. Often he’d drop all his stores, releasing AMRAAMs long or medium (Su27 can easily drag it) and blowing through all of his missiles before getting shot down. Looks like I need to join a virtual squadron just to play this campaign.
WHen I originally reported this I was told to delete dx9display.dsp and restart, and it did fix it.
However today nhawk saw this issue today and kept crashing without until he restarted.
I had this same problem with Falcon Online server during the latest PVP campaign (Battle for Sinai for BMS 4.32). I “solved” it by reconnecting like tens of times until eventually it just let me in (to my surprise). I had the required ports forwarded to the correct internal IP in my home network. I even tried restarting my computer, but it still gave me the message.
I thought the same approach as I did in my '80s MOD. Partally experimental which based on compat reaports of ODS. Was literally no any conflich where flares challanged the most advanced IR AAMs in the era.
For those who don’t use this tool - you should get it!
A review of an awesome learning tool for flight sim enthusiasts and especially for players of Falcon 4 BMS . Tacview allows you to play back the mission and study the action, conduct a multiplayer or singleplayer debrief, analyze telemetry data and understand the true cause of events.
Also includes capture of a multiplayer debrief at UOAF, which is perhaps most relevant for this sub-forum.
